Meet Ann McLane Kuster

by: Jack Mitchell

Sun Jun 28, 2009 at 22:47:11 PM EDT

(Looking forward to seeing more of these writeups for all the candidates. - promoted by Dean Barker)

Last night, I spent a very enjoyable evening at the home of Latha and Krishna Mangipudi as congressional candidate Ann McLane Kuster introduced herself to 30+ local folks. First I would be remiss, if I did not fully laud the wonderful efforts of Latha and her family, as they opened their doors with a warm welcome and an endless supply of delicious food & drink. Future pols reading this diary, please take note, Latha does it right!

Jack Mitchell :: Meet Ann McLane Kuster
The event started promptly at 5pm with a good crowd casually chatting amongst themselves and with Annie, as she made her way around. There were plenty of smiles, chuckles and picture taking.

Soon enough, Latha introduced Annie to a full room. Folks were literally peering in from several adjacent rooms. Annie introduced herself, covering her biography and what has motivated her to enter the race for the 2nd CD.

The time passed quickly, Annie opened the rest of the evening to a relaxed question and answer session. The group was very engaged, asking deep level questions.

The discussion covered:
- Global warming regulations centered on Cap and Trade policies.
- Recent efforts to reduce the financial burdens associated to higher education
(This period melded in with some talk of the economy as a whole)
- A discussion of several health care issues, including the public option, mental health care and elderly care.

During the entire round, there was a natural ebb and flow between Annie and Latha's guests. I found the discussion to be insightful with plenty of NH anecdotes that bridged the distance between the disembodied issues and the organic examples that come from everyday folks.

From what I can gather, Ann McLane Kuster is committed to working hard to win the support of the people from NH2. Please keep an eye peeled on this site and local bulletin boards. She plans on making the rounds to venues, great and small. I am confident that Annie will quickly make your short list and that she will, ultimately, earn your support and your vote.

Annie is "in it to win it." Please come and see what she has to offer. Stayed tuned!

mbair would be proud of you Jack (4.00 / 2)
I went to an event with Paul for the YD's last summer at their house. The Indian food was wonderful and there was no end to it. Whoever captures the Mangipudi's vote is important, it will have a strong influence among thousands of other Indian Americans living in New Hampshire.

Latha mentioned that event to the packed room. She happily recounted the day, reinforcing the imperatve to support Paul's Senate bid. :v)
