Good Faith Republicans: James Inhofe Edition

by: Dean Barker

Thu Aug 27, 2009 at 18:31:17 PM EDT

Why can't Senate Republicans be more like their colleague, climate change denialist James Inhofe?
"I don't have to read it, or know what's in it. I'm going to oppose it anyways."
A thing of beauty.  Thank you, Senator, for not being like this, this, this, this, or this.

Then there's (4.00 / 1)
this.

The angry crowd at McCain's town hall were supporters of health care reform.

Here is the somewhat funny part:

When McCain was trying to answer questions from reporters after the town hall, one audience member yelled at him that he gets hundreds of thousands of dollars from insurance companies every year.

In a voice of feigned surprise, McCain said "Really? I didn't know that."

That's not likely to be true, (0.00 / 0)
But if it is, there's an argument to be made that candidates not paying personal attention to the sources of their contributions is a good thing.

And these people collect a salary and health coverage and a pension (0.00 / 0)

What's the matter with Oklahoma? (0.00 / 0)
Its amazing that they re-elect this guy. I mean, he has been in OK politics forever, and in the Senate for about 15 years, so it's not as if his record is unknown. And yet.... re-elected he is. OK's other senator is also pretty bad- together they may be the worst tag-team in the Senate.

My only explanation is the Daily Oklahoman, the biggest rag by circulation in the state and called by the Columbia Journalism Review "the worst  newspaper in the country" (and yes, they know about our own UL).

That's what he said about studies showing the need to stop global warming. (0.00 / 0)
