Dear Kelly,

by: Ray Buckley

(With "Democrat Party," the Ayotte campaign continues to reveal itself as having no substance outside of the Luntz Villager template.  They expect me to believe that a former AG from NH would say "Democrat Party"?  Does Brooks know he's in New Hampshire now and doesn't work for Michelle Bachmann anymore? - promoted by Dean Barker)

Who are you talking about in your letter? There is no such organization as "the Democrat Party".

It appears your campaign is in deeper trouble than we had realized if things are so bad you have to make up a phony group to rail against.

Now, after the past couple of months of effectively exposing your candidacy as being controlled by the DC Republican insiders, powerbrokers and special interests along with your unwillingness to give a straight answer questions by NH voters, I could undertand that you were at least mildly irritated with the effectiveness of the Democratic Party. Maybe in your next letter.

See you in twelve months...possibly.

Sincerely yours,

Ray Buckley, Chair
NH Democratic Party

Ray Buckley :: Dear Kelly,
September 30, 2009
Friends -

I need your help. At midnight tonight we have our first important deadline of this campaign - our first financial reporting period comes to a close.

Over the last two months I have traveled across our state and from Berlin to Nashua, Portsmouth to Newport I have heard your message loud and clear. You want fiscal sanity in Washington, DC. You don't want a government takeover of health care. You want New Hampshire common sense in the United States Senate.

From the day I started this effort, the Democrat Party has continued to attack me at both the state and national level. They send out press releases attacking me almost daily because they are afraid of my campaign for fiscal responsibility. They know that when voters look at Paul Hodes' record of unchecked spending by an ever increasing government, and my message of fiscal discipline and limited government, I will win every time.

I need your help to defend against their false and desperate attacks. Please make a contribution to my campaign today.

I need to send a message to the Democrat machine that is targeting New Hampshire that my campaign has broad grassroots support and that we have the resources to defend against their attacks.

Won't you make an immediate online contribution in whatever amount you can afford in support of my efforts today?

With the challenges New Hampshire faces, we need a strong voice representing us in the United States Senate. New Hampshire needs an advocate who puts our families first and is not beholden to the special interests. If I am fortunate enough to win this race, I will never forget who sent me to Washington or who I work for.

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes,

Kelly Ayotte

Is what we had as AG?

Or then again, maybe this one is just a cardboard cutout the Republican Party is moving around in NH (and DC).

We believe in prosperity & opportunity, strong communities, healthy families, great schools, investing in our future and leading the world by example. We are Democrats; we are the change you're looking for.

Does this mean the exploratory phase is over and Ms. Ayotte (0.00 / 0)
has decided she's a candidate?

It may well be that

New Hampshire needs an advocate who puts our families first and is not beholden to the special interests.

However, there's no indication that Ms. Ayotte is such a person.  She claims that if she's "sent ...to Washington," she won't forget whom she works for, but she seems to have already forgotten whom she worked for a few months ago.

Political consultants seem to have decided that references to the opposition signal a candidate who's aware and caring, unlike their constituents, from whom nothing is expected but money--not to be spent, but to support.  How effective that is with men who owe and women who need child "support," I don't know.

Funny Post, Ray... (4.00 / 3)
...funny, and it has symbolic substance.  If a candidate can't even figure out who the opposition is, how the hell can she figure out where she wants to lead the country?

Reminds me of Ovide's WEBSITE of a while ago that had the mountains of New Hampshire to the west of the City of Manchester.

No wonder Republicans are so confused.  They need a compass, a map, AND a dictionary.  But then we'd have to spend time teaching them how to use them.

Fun Fact (4.00 / 9)

In the phone jamming case, when Ovide Lamontagne was representing the NH Republican State Committee, he started referring to the plaintiff as the Democrat Party in his pleadings.

When we brought it to the court's attention ( and told Ovide that we would file a professional conduct complaint if he didn't knock it off), the court told him to act like an adult and use the plaintiff's correct name.

"But, in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope." Si se puede. Yes we can.
