Kelly Ayotte SO Not a DC Establishment Candidate!

by: Dean Barker

Tue Dec 01, 2009 at 18:59:44 PM EST

Would you please stop calling Kelly Ayotte a Washington sprung, Washington funded, Washington managed candidate? Please?
Retiring Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., is scheduled to host a fundraising lunch Wednesday for former state Attorney General Kelly Ayotte), who the National Republican Senatorial Committee recruited to run for his open seat in 2010.

...The fundraiser, which boasts ticket prices between $500 and $2,000, is scheduled for noon at 101 Constitution Avenue NW -- a stone's throw away from Capitol Hill.

Are New Hampshire Republicans happy about Judd Gregg deciding for them who his successor will be?

Why the carping? (0.00 / 0)
Republicans always let the hierarchy pick and groom the tokens they send to Washington.  Ms. Ayotte, having been counsel to a governor and Attorney General of the state, has more achievements, at least on paper, than most candidates.

I'm just waiting (0.00 / 0)
for the first description of her as a "maverick."

The sign of real genius (4.00 / 1)
This simply reflects the true brilliance of Ayotte's candidacy: she is all things to all people. She is a centrist; she is a real conservative. She is establishment; she is a maverick.

She transcends the petty divisions and categories of your politics. She is above and beyond all of that, and, like the great poet, she includes all of that:

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

Well, she's like the great poet, minus all the icky love stuff.
