Mary Landrieu, Senate Democrat & Shameless Liar

by: Dean Barker

Wed Dec 16, 2009 at 20:54:16 PM EST

It is really is a pity Dr. Dean is ruining the nice little Christmas show the White House is putting on, isn't it?

What an unbelievable train wreck.  The Republicans are laughing at us.

And Senate Democrats like Mary Landrieu made it possible, all along the health care reform process.

Landrieu and Friends (4.00 / 5)
I am constantly amazed by the amount of truly horrible people we have representing us in Washington, DC. It makes me sick to my stomach when I think about it. The way I see it, we have about 45-50 truly horrible Senators, 30-35 with no real principles, and only about 10-15 that are actually doing their best to represent the average American.

When health insurance premiums are easily rising by double digits each and every year, the Republicans + Landrieu, Lieberman, Nelson, etc. want to prevent us from having any other choices. I will never understand how these people look at themselves in the mirror every morning. They are just complete corporate shills who look down at the average American with sheer contempt.

What amazes me is her utter disregard (4.00 / 3)
for personal integrity in that clip.

She knows only a tiny fraction of people watching will know the details, so she sets up a fake contrast - Lieberman v. Dean - and puts herself squarely in the middle as the Very Important Person looking out for John Doe American.

Her lying is odious, but the whole act behind it - it's disgraceful.

Very common tactic (0.00 / 0)
Used by right-wingers and Corporate Democrats on a regular basis in the media.

The Mandate (4.00 / 4)
Obama did not run with a mandate as part of his health care reform proposal.

For those with a short memory, it was one of the biggest bones of contention between Clinton and Obama supporters on this very blog.

I'd get the link(s), but we are post-Unity. :v)

So Much Of It Is About Those Lobbyists Dollars... (0.00 / 0)
...and now the US Supreme Court might open the floodgates of political contributions directly from corporate treasuries.

[I'm a former has-been House member and State Senator, but I keep "Rep." on my ID name for easy reference of previous posts.]

True (0.00 / 0)
Makes me very pessimistic about the future of our democracy.

Looking at the make-up (0.00 / 0)
of the SCOTUS, I'd say it's a done deal. I'd like to be surprised, but I doubt it.

I think that money corporations pay to lobbyists should be taxed and taxed heavily. That way, you get two birds with one stone: 1. they may think about the money they spend that way 2. another source of revenue that won't hurt the "middle class".

Dean for President - 2012 (0.00 / 0)
If incumbent Democrats aren't going to act like Democrats, then let's elect some who will.
