Thank you so much, Dean, for posting Granny D's words.  She gives me heart, and the reminder that stepping up is 90% of the work is a great one.  So much of what we do is simply showing up, I have found, and then letting things happen.  Giving a push, starting the ripple.  It has worked for me in my town, more people are involved, despite the pushback from those who would keep the process secret and the exclusive province of "town hall," simply because I put myself out there, scary as it may be, and pulled others to join me.  

I spoke more at town meeting than I have ever done this year, even though I still end up shaking at the mike, because I believe we are at a turning point in our small towns.  We have shrunk as much as we can, we have to move forward to make these places healthy and livable, sustainable and forward-thinking.  This is not the time for Democrats to crawl back into the holes they lived in for so long in NH.  

Like Granny D, I will go down fighting, but I don't believe that the fight will be lost.  

We believe in prosperity & opportunity, strong communities, healthy families, great schools, investing in our future and leading the world by example. We are Democrats; we are the change you're looking for.

wife is starting a tea party group.

"I adore all the new citizen patriots who are rising up across this country," Thomas, who goes by Ginni, said on the panel at the Conservative Political Action Conference. "I have felt called to the front lines with you, with my fellow citizens, to preserve what made America great."

Virginia Thomas declined to comment in detail about her plans for LibertyCentral.org, which she said would fully launch in May. In a brief phone interview, she did not directly answer questions about whether she and her husband had discussed the effects her role might have on perceptions of his impartiality.

In 2000, while at the Heritage Foundation, she was recruiting staff for a possible George W. Bush administration as her husband was hearing the case that would decide the election. When journalists reported her work, Thomas said she saw no conflict of interest and that she rarely discussed court matters with her husband.

"We have our separate professional lives," she said at the time.

This non profit also benefits from the recent Supreme Court decision giving corporations "freedom of speech" through money. Clarence Thomas was with the five justices who made this decision.
