NH Poll: Gore Trumps Clinton, Sununu at 31% for Re-election

by: rambler american

Wed Jun 27, 2007 at 18:43:50 PM EDT

(I changed the title to reflect the fantastic news about Sununu, and added a couple of grafs. - promoted by Dean Barker)

According to the Suffolk University Political Research Center, Al Gore handily defeats all other contenders, including Hillary among NH voters.

Run, Al, Run

Update by Dean:Here are the numbers from the article:

If Mr. Gore got into the 2008 presidential nomination contest, he would edge out Mrs. Clinton in New Hampshire 32 percent to 26 percent and defeat the rest of the Democratic contenders, says a 7NEWS-Suffolk University poll of likely voters.

And here's something to really make you smile (from the same poll, emphasis mine):

Sen. John Sununu, New Hampshire Republican, appears to be in trouble, with only 31 percent in the poll saying he deserves re-election and 47 percent saying someone else should get his seat.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percent overall.

I don't know their track record (0.00 / 0)
but I find their other number -- 31% believe John E. Sununu deserves re-election -- more interesting.

Dean, would you stop propping up Sununu? (4.00 / 2)
Giving him 6 bonus points. Sheesh.

Fixed. But it's not me who's propping him up. (4.00 / 1)
Check this out!

The Union Leader couldn't even bring itself to mention the Sununu part in their article on it.

HOOOORRRRAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!

Man, this poll is like a cold drink of water on this hot day.

Maybe a pair of sneakers for the Sprinter?

I know it's not an approval number, but still.

How's this?

Nice to see this confirmed again: (0.00 / 0)
From the poll:

Iraq the lead issue

The most important issue to New Hampshire voters was the Iraq war (34 percent), followed by Homeland Security/terrorism (19 percent), health care (15 percent), economy/jobs (8 percent), education (7 percent), and the environment (7 percent).

I'm a bit surprised about the environment being so low on the list in NH.

I'm ecstatic right now (0.00 / 0)
The last 24 hours have been incredible for Gore

GoreHub.com goes online.

His publicist canceled all his speeches for the next 6 months, because he is reportedly going to be considering a run for President.

Now this.  I don't know if I can take it

Draft Gore NH oughta have their hands full now!

I think I know a lot of people who might be feeling like that right now.

Some tough decisions ahead.

Also of Note: Richardson is Now Tied with Edwards (0.00 / 0)
Both are at 9% in the poll.

Bill Richardson: "Get out now. Get all our troops out now. It is the only right and responsible choice."

New ARG poll on NH senate race! (0.00 / 0)
Shaheen - 57%
Sununu - 29%

http://americanresea...

If Sununu polls that badly now (yay!) it should be a real Dem race (4.00 / 1)
not a Shaheen lockup.  It would be a shame if the field dropped away uncontested.
