John E. Sprints Through the Revolving Door

This, combined with posioning the well at the TARP Oversight panel, ought to keep the Sprinter busy until he announces a run for Gregg's seat:
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE:TWC) today announced the election of Donna A. James, Edward D. Shirley and former Senator John E. Sununu to its Board of Directors. ... These appointments will be effective upon the Company's previously announced separation from Time Warner Inc., which is expected by the end of the quarter.

...Sen. Sununu is expected to serve on the finance committee and the nominating and governance committee.

Speaking of: John Junior, during his term in the senate, served on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation committee, which, not coincidentally, oversees such things as communications and technology.

Hmmmm....... (0.00 / 0)
Interesting; this makes me wonder if he is not going to run in '010.  If he is going to run, then why go through the trouble of getting elected to a board for what - seven months? Eight months?

But then again, what a convenient thing - park a former senator on your board for a few months, pay him $15-20,000 per meeting, and then keep your fingers crossed he gets back in the senate in the next cycle.

Keeping them LOW.

Being elected to a board that doesn't yet exist is certainly (0.00 / 0)
forward thinking.  I'm reminded of all those press releases that carry a disclaimer about not assigning much credit to projections when one evaluates the company's stock.

Cable TV has always been an iffy proposition that had to rely on monopoly service areas from the very beginning and then never managed to deliver the product as promised.

The problem with electronic anything, as I see it, is that there's a huge disconnect between the speed at which information is transmitted and the time it takes the human brain to put it together and digest what comes out.  The speed at which our brains process input is very rapid; our ability to be conscious of it is sluggish.  That is, it takes a relatively long time to reflect, evaluate, compare and reach a conclusion.

Which may account for the effort by the instinct-driven, whose reaction times are much quicker, to somehow circumvent the intervention of the sluggish intellect.  What they'd like to do is incorporate the functions of the higher brain into the base.
I think that's what the robot weapons are supposed to achieve.

Time Warner actually offered Sununu his own reality show. They are still looking for a plot and title...any suggestions?
