Did Jeb Bradley single handedly save New Hampshire unknowingly?

by: Jeff Ballard

(Part put below the fold. - promoted by Dean Barker)

Last night I was given a preview of today's headlines of The Conway Daily Sun which left me very curious, it read:

"Former governor says Jeb spurred Lynch to try to restore rooms and meals revenue"

Jeff Ballard :: Did Jeb Bradley single handedly save New Hampshire unknowingly?
This came as a huge surprise to me to learn what an important role Jeb Bradley played in the budget process considering not one single conversation is quoted as ever having taken place between Jeb and Gov. John Lynch. The notion that Jeb's mere presence would strike such fear into Gov. Lynch is absurd.

It also fails to mention that Bud Martin would have also stood up to fight for the sharing of the Rooms and Meals tax.  You see, for SD-3, this was not a partisan issue, nearly all of the 17 communities of SD-3 stood to lose big and face their taxes being raised at the local level, along with services being cut (remember Starting Point).  That is why Bud Martin was going to stand up for our district, because he is here for the district first.

As I have followed the budget process it seems to me that the Federal Stimulus Package, which passed thanks to the hard work of people like Rep Carol Shea-Porter and Sen Jean Shaheen, was the key to Gov Lynch being able to release the Rooms and Meals tax back to the local communities.

(No slight was meant to the work of Rep Hodes in the above paragraph, since I am a CD-1 resident I forgot him!)

This is an example of the lies we will be up against, and as I was taught very early on by now State Rep, Kevin Hodges, the only way to overcome lies is by repeating the truth loud and often.

I hope you all will join me in reminding people that the work of the Democratic Party on the national level, along with support at the local grass roots level,  is what ended the Rooms and Meals tax mess, while the Republicans in Congress stood by, publicly wishing that President Obama would fail.

The happy conclusion to this is that the Stimulus Package is working and will ease the burden on the tax payers. Almost everyone in SD-3 will get a tax break (sorry Jeb, you don't qualify, you make far too much, unlike the people of SD-3 which you want to represent), and now will not face the raises to their local taxes.

Join me in supporting Bud Martin loud and clear by joining my facebook group, Friends of Bud Martin, or donating to Bud through the Friends of Bud Martin ActBlue page.

Yikes, ole Poppy Sununu isn't afraid to tell big, public whoppers!

It's hard to imagine Governor Lynch trembling in his office at the very thought of Big Bad Bradley the two time loser as some kind of new sheriff in town.

The Republican Party seems to think that everyone in the US is suffering from memory loss - that we won't notice how they're trying to re-write history.

I haven't forgotten those last few town hall meetings Jeb Bradley had before he lost his seat in Congress. The last one was particularly painful - Jeb was steadily questioned/abused by constituents for 2 hours in a small room in Wolfeboro - in front of his mother. Even his supporters were mad at him. It was painful.

The GOP will be expecting folks to have forgotten who Jeb Bradley became in Congress. It's going to be our job to remind them - and no matter how hard Jeb tries, he can't get wash away the stench of Bush.

That is absolutely one of the silliest stories I've (4.00 / 2)
ever read.  But then, Republicans are hard pressed to find something positive for which they can claim credit so making something up isn't all that surprising.

Jeb Bradley's credibility was spent years ago and he's added nothing to his credit over the ensuing years. Bud Martin will make a fine senator.
