Way to Go Texas Gov. Perry!!

by: Dean Barker

Thu Mar 19, 2009 at 00:00:00 AM EDT

Remember when Jennifer S. Palin-Horn told the Franklin GOP that they need to get on Twitter if they want to win elections again?

Tweet, tweet:

That's in reference to the Governor of Texas' breathtakingly unconscionable decision to reject money that would go to assist the unemployed in his state, something not even the most anti-New Deal GOPer in the New Hampshire's history dared to do.

Way to Go!!

Republicans, stop using Twitter. (4.00 / 1)
Using things because they're there doesn't mean you're up to date and fully utilizing technology.  Nobody needs to know which intersections their not-a-member-of-Congress likes to avoid, Mrs. Horn.

will Ms. Horn (0.00 / 0)
be proudly touting the Jackie Mason endorsement next time around?

Jackie's right (0.00 / 0)
He IS a comedian. It's not fair of us to go after him for things he says on stage, any more than it's fair for the GOP to go after Al Franken for that (which they have).

thin line, Jim (4.00 / 1)
A lot of comedians make jokes about Obama, and they aren't offensive because they aren't coming from a mean-spirited place; the place of their own politics. They're just making jokes, because that's what comedians do.

Jackie Mason is a mean spirited, nasty little man, whose politics have become his act. I think that makes him fair game.

It should be thicker (0.00 / 0)
I agree that he exploits his (dwindling) fame for political purposes, but he's still an entertainer first and foremost, even if he's not ready to make nice.

Jennifer's Hubby's $$$ (0.00 / 0)
When your husband can spot you a quarter-million cash for a failed congressional campaign, you have trouble empathizing with folks who just lost their jobs and homes.

Jennifer Horn is a vapid moron.  I just hope to hell she runs again.

Goes to prove the old adage (0.00 / 0)
that a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing, especially where technology is concerned!

Definitely a fall out of the stupid tree, hitting every branch on the way down.

Tweet, tweet!

So, how do Republicans know that people are lazy and need to be threatened (0.00 / 0)
with starvation to make them work?  Because they're lazy--actually, the Bible calls it sloth.
Remember the seven deadly sins?

pride
wrath
greed
gluttony
sloth
lust
envy

I actually think these are basic instincts that become active without any conscious thought.  If so, and if sin is an act of the will, then the classification of these emotion-driven behaviors as sins may be inappropriate.  The people who exhibit them may not be able to do anything about them.  It's just human nature.  What can you do but pray to be forgiven?

Not to be outdone, (4.00 / 3)
The REAL Wasilla Wonderwoman is parroting Perry, too, while calling for the rejection of stimulus funds for education:

"Simply expanding state government under this federal stimulus package creates an unrealistic expectation that the state will continue these programs when the federal funds are no longer available,"said Governor Palin.

As reported in AK. and proudly confirmed by the other side.

They probably sent all of this boilerplate to each other one tweet at a time and had a secretary type it up...
