Dodd's Debate War Room On BH Tonight, LIVE

by: Mike Caulfield

Thu Apr 26, 2007 at 06:59:38 AM EDT

We're going to be doing something very interesting tonight during tonight's debate, but I'll let Tim Tagaris, from the Dodd campaign explain it:

Just wanted to give a heads up on something the Dodd campaign is doing during the debate.  Being a New Hampshire blog, we'd especially love your participation.

We are going to be doing a real time live-stream from inside the debate war room.  You would be able to embed the stream on your blog ... just like a youtube clip.

The Deputy Campaign Manager and Policy Director (and other staffers) are going to field questions submitted throughout the debate, answering them as they come in in real-time.

Since candidates only have 60 seconds to an answer questions, maybe people want more information on why Dodd supports Reid-Feingold?  Maybe there's a question not asked during the debate?  Do folks want to know from our research director whose rhetoric is not matching their record?  Maybe they just want to see what the war room is like during a debate.

I am going to be scanning the blogs emedding the stream on their on their sites and getting as many questions answered as possible over the course of the hour and a half.  I can promise to make sure those submitted on your site are among them.

So we're going to do this, because it's frankly one of the coolest ideas I've seen in a while. For a future debate, I could imagine we'd have multiple diaries where you could wander into different candidates war rooms during the debate.

But for tonight, it's Dodd, because it's his team that grabbed the brass ring here and rethunk it.

So see you all back here tonight? (Oh, and give Tim some love for this idea below the fold).

Impressive (0.00 / 0)
This is the kind of creative thinking and innovation that can set a campaign apart.  Dodd has some very smart people working for him; he is a good candidate, with a lot of experience and a good record on a number of issues, but for some reason the progressives haven't been giving him the kind of attention that he should be getting.

This progressive site (0.00 / 0)
has been giving him attention:

Here's an exclusive BH video clip on Dodd, and here's a fairly meaty tag content.

I would direct your question to the MSM, who would prefer for the expectations of their audience attention span a triumvirate of candidates on both sides and no more.

In terms of social issues, Dodd seems in line with "old lion" liberals like Ted Kennedy (and thus in line with newer progressives), but on fiscal issues he's more Bill Clinton.  His tough and unambiguous Iraq stance has been fantastic.

This is a great idea. I'll check it out tonight.

This is great. (0.00 / 0)
We should let other people know about this out there in the Blogosphere.

By the way, what time will all this be happening tonight?
