"Please Support Guinta's Budget"

"Lower Spending equals Lower Taxes"

I saw two lawn signs today saying that in Manchester (corner of Lake & Hanover). I'm guessing that the city GOP has started coordinating an effort to promote Mayor Guinta's ludicrous budget. FYI, he wants to cut $7.5 million from the school budget alone! Clearly Guinta is unbelievable and will stop at nothing.

My questions are:
1) Who put those signs up?
2) Where's the counter-campaign?
3) Can those signs be taken down?

More details will come out in the next few weeks on the impact of  his budget, but this much is certain: Monday, April 28 at 6:00 p.m. is the public budget hearing at Memorial High School. Aldermen have been known to count heads.

Raise your hand if you think lower spending is the answer to our education crisis.

Doesn't Douglas' Question... (0.00 / 0)
Doesn't Douglas' question really say it all?  Education is the BEST "investment" we can make, because with better education -- and yes, money DOES make a difference, along with other factors -- we end up with a more educated population.

Thus we have less crime, less welfare needed, more people with higher incomes able to put back into the community, a more competitive nation in the economics of the 21st Century, and kids who will grow up able to solve problems like global warming and future food shortages.

If we did invest in education through a tax system that was based on abilty to pay, what could be more fair?

But, all that can't be put onto a bumper sticker.  We need leaders who will be bold enough to say and do what should be said and done.
