Laura Named Contributing Editor On Daily Kos!

by: Dean Barker

Thu Nov 30, 2006 at 14:34:41 PM EST

Please join me in congratulating Blue Hampshire co-founder and managing editor (Miss)Laura, who has just been tapped to be part of the class of 2007 front page bloggers on Daily Kos!

I came up with what I thought was a seriously constrictive set of guidelines: the candidates had to be multi-issue, level headed, community building, American, responsible, dependable, loyal and lack the big ego.

After working closely with Laura for a period of months on the Bass-Hodes race, I couldn't agree more.

CONGRATULATIONS LAURA!

The Power, THE POWER!!! (4.00 / 1)
/snark

Wow!  I can't imagine having that kind of responsibility.

Laura has been skyrocketed into a position of being one of the most influential bloggers out there.

She can do some pretty neat things now if she wanted to.  With all these presidential candidates coming to NH, she could interview them and give a first hand account.

If they want netroots exposer, they'll have to.

This is excellent news (4.00 / 2)
For Laura, for BH, and especially for Daily Kos.

Agreed. Except for the fact that we'll have to (4.00 / 3)
share her with that loony national startup, The Daily Koss, run by that Markos Moulomenos Zapatista, or whoever he is.

What, they get like 16, 17 hits a day, right? < /snark >

Laura just got a well deserved opportunity, and BH as a side result gets some nice synergy with a blog that has more readers than many major newspapers. < /happy happy joy joy >

Well deserved (4.00 / 2)
It will be nice to have a perspective to balance Kos on the NH primary, too: she will have more weight in either supporting it or explaining its faults.

BTW, Kos has family in NH. Here's an open invitation to the Keene DL whenever he visits. (Hanover might find a seat for him too.)

yay, laura! (4.00 / 1)
that's kick ass.

it's time: the albany project

Hmm.. (4.00 / 1)
The new class of contributing editors will be tasked with weekend duty, Friday through Sunday

At the risk of setting Mike off on another harangue about NH supression of bars, do we have to look for a DL site with both chocolate Martinis and Wi-Fi?

I don't know, but that'll make two out of the three (0.00 / 0)
managing editors working on Fridays, while the third is having a blast at DL.

I think Blue Hampshire may need to recruit you for our class of 2007 Friday night guest blogging gig.

Oh, jeez, (4.00 / 4)
I should just get a treo.  Because it wouldn't be good if I spilled chocolate martini on my laptop.

Chocolate martinis (0.00 / 0)
I will not live that down, that TC's does not have chocolate martinis.

I think First Fridays Laura will just have to photoblog.

If I was a bigger man I'd link you to photos of the last dance party we threw together after we left for my house. But you know what -- I'm not that big a man...

Actually, (0.00 / 0)
I mind the drinks at TCs much less than the food, which is truly vile, and since I have a drive to get there, it's kind of awkwardly-timed if I can't eat at the place.  I'll just try to leave in time to stop and eat somewhere else in Keene tomorrow.

Congratulations Laura (4.00 / 2)
A celebrity in our midst!

I echo some of the thoughts above about trying to communicate the good of the Primary to the National audience... Kos was so down on it after 2004.

Woot!

New Hampshire represent!! (4.00 / 1)
This is great news for New Hampshire Democrats. It assures us that the state will stay in the limelight with the netroots.

Congratulations Laura!!

I never knew! (4.00 / 4)
MissLaura was from NH! Cool! I have appreciated many of your diaries! I've been part of Kos for a couple of years.

As a NH native with roots going back to 1644 and a cousin was Governor back in the 60's (Gov Wesley Powell), NH politics were always of interest. But I was always out of step, being more liberal minded than most of my family. I am now proud to say that they have turned blue over time and now with this blog maybe more of us can come out of the red-closet LOL!

I'm not so much from here as living here now...flatlander, out-of-stater changing our politics, etc etc.
