The National Republican Congressional Committee has promoted more than a dozen candidates to "contender" status and added dozens more to its Young Guns program, which aims to recognize and help House Republican's top challengers this cycle.

The program already has 10 candidates who have achieved "Young Guns" status, as well as 62 candidates in the [ed: second tier] "contender" and "on the radar" categories.

Our old six-term, washed-up, kicked-out Charlie, he of the tongue callused from licking Tom DeLay and George W's boots, the spineless, shapeless, Tea Party/RINO/early George W. booster/"independent voice"/Clinton impeacher/Joe Barton fanboy a "third-tier," "on-the-radar" runner-up to the runners-up to the wannabes?

O the indignity! 'Twould be a tragedy on par with Romeo and Juliet -- had Juliet never entered the picture and Romeo's boundless love and devotion focused utterly upon Romeo.

So, Charlie, now you're looking up the ladder and thinking maybe, if you try real hard and look tough enough, you could climb up a couple of rungs and be a "Young Gun."  Really, Charlie?  You, a "Young Gun"?  Ha! More like
