Today, just before the rain really began, I walked with my husband and other Democrats, including Peggo Hodes, in the Deerfield Old Home Day parade, an annual event.  It's one of the towns in my district.  We had a wonderful float with all sorts of signs on it, an old box van, with a kicking donkey on the front that said VOTE FROM THE BOTTOM UP -meaning don't forget the people at the bottom of the ballot, who are the ones closest to home.
The theme of the parade was supposed to be A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS, so we had a sign listing things like Social Security, the 40 hour work week, etc.  And our banner, KEEP NH BLUE, VOTE DEMOCRATIC.
The Republicans were out in force.  Nothing like all these primaries to bring out the SUV's, the signs, etc.  In person Mahoney, Ashooh, Ayotte, Stevens, Guinta, I suspect I forgot several,  lots of very young volunteers, lots of money made an appearance. Rather overwhelming for a small town of around 4000 people.  It's a battle zone out there.
