Dear Congressman-Elect Guintaby: Dean BarkerMon Nov 08, 2010 at 19:59:40 PM EST |
I find your decision to go on vacation to be an odd public relations choice, given the rhetoric of your campaign and the severity of the recession our country is in. But hey, it's a free country.
Before you go, though, would you mind clearing up that little matter of the $355,000 in campaign money that logic and common sense say could not possibly have come from you? There have been multiple and bi-partisan complaints filed with the FEC and the Clerk of Congress over this issue, and a US Attorney is currently in the process of deciding whether or not to conduct a criminal probe. Wouldn't it be better for you and the state of New Hampshire to clear this all up with a copy of a simple bank statement (or perhaps even a tax return?) showing that this money was truly yours to give, before officially representing half of the state come January? That way you won't have the FEC and Clerk of Congress and US Attorney - and maybe even the IRS at some point - hanging over the start of your Washington career. Thank you for your attention in this matter. |
