Things I'll do in Denver...

by: Mike Hoefer

Sat Aug 02, 2008 at 17:08:31 PM EDT

My flight to Denver is only three weeks away at this point. It's hard to believe that the convention is upon us.

My Denver updates and blogging will focus on photos and short videos rather than written diaries. When you're with a writer as good as Laura you gotta find your own niche!

Photos will be on Google's Picassa Web, and video via Flip camera on Google Video or perhaps this zannel thing. I'll be all a twitter as well. You can follow me at mhoefer. I will embed as much as I can into the front page of BlueHampshire.

As I mentioned before, the State Party is being very inclusive and accepting of this DNC program. They have gone out of their way to include me as much as they can. I will be staying at the same hotel as the delegation (some 20 mins south of the Pepsi Center by light rail) and it looks like I'll be included in as many of the Delegation events as I care to be a part of.

Part of the challenge of the week will be convincing folks that I am not a scary blogger looking for gotcha moments. Hopefully I will be able to share the story of a Delegate or two over the course of the week. If I can transmit just a part of the excitement and process over the inter-tubes to my friends and community back here in NH I will consider my job accomplished.

It is certainly a once-in-lifetime sort of activity. I'm honored and humbled to represent you all in Denver.

A big thank-you to those who have donated to support Laura and I. Dean is keeping your names secret so our public appreciation will have to do.

If you like what you are reading on Blue Hampshire, please consider making a secure contribution to our first ever Blograiser to help send Mike and Laura to the DNC convention.  Look for the yellow "Donate" button just below our logo.

But I'm keepin' 'em to myself. I trust your judgment, and Laura's.

Denver has a great new monthly magazine called "5280".  The latest issue is mostly about the convention and you can find it online here. I think the magazine has a blog too.  You should check it out.

Sorry, I couldn't resist the Warren Zevon reference. I love reading your blog, and I'm really glad you can be part of the process and report it back to us. I hope this is a relationship that the Party keeps up! Have fun!
