"From Now Until November 4th..."

by: Dean Barker

Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter: "But if we want the change, we have to devote ourselves to it. And that means, from now until November 4th, there's nothing else you're doing that's more important than saving your country."

Cynic Alert
I know, I know, but there's that little thing of feeding my family...the government doesn't do it for me.The bastards were asleep at the switch as our hard work, our investmnts went down the tubes. They didn't under the Dems either. And the reality check says that 'Yes, Chris and Charlie did have sweetheart mortgages, John was a philanderer, Hillary did vote for the War,' and so on and s0 on.Until we have comprehensive campaign Finance reform, the rich still rule. There may be fewer of them this week, but the Oligarchs still hold sway.
Barack is still bundling...Jack sent me the list of available fundraisers in the Boston area the next few weeks. Some of them request 23,000/couple. Some of the hosts are 'our' rich folk. They don't hold signs, do Viz, make calls, that's beneath them. They write checks and expect access. Since only 2300 is allowed for an individual it means you are a bundler.

It must be the air here in Berkeley, but my cynical juices are flowing this morning. How will electing Democrats change things for the poor, the corporate fat cats, those who make huge sums and get us schleps to pay their taxes?
Who will be jailed, who takes the hit ? Not the big contributors on our side, I'll wager.

I fully expect and wish for Carol to win, and see the 60 as a real possibility. The global meltdown has more to do with the 'throw the bums out' switchy ditchy than anything else. McCain lost on 9/15, when the hole took over the Swiss Cheese. How far will a Democratic majority go to right the wrongs that have bankrupted much of the world in America's name? Do you expect they really will? I am 57, lost my retirement to China and slave labor, have no pension, and nobody pays my bills if I take a week off to campaign. I have a kid to put through college, and will work till I die. I'll be helping as I can.

I expect an answer from NH-Ex-pat, or I never want to hear from you again.

Without deviation from the norm, 'progress' is not possible.

Bundling is absolutely, beyond any question, a pernicious practice that should be BANNED.
