You find a newspaper and columnist who will give media oxygen to any pro-Republican spin, not matter how non-reality based it is:
[Jennifer Donahue] said that while most Clinton voters have moved to Obama, "there is a big chunk of women who support Sarah Palin, and, somehow, that's not being picked up in the polls.
"Many of them are independents," she said, "and you ignore them at your peril."
This is really political malpractice. As we've sourced time and again in countering Donahue, Palin is a drag on both women and independents in this state.
Look, I know this is a small state, and I really don't want to harp on one political pundit in a sphere of maybe ten or twenty total, but Donahue's commentary is becoming increasingly detached from reality. My theory is either that a) it's more fun to say that a race is close, so just say it and damn the data, or b) she's trying to soften the blow on this statement made at the outset of the Palin nomination:
Either Central Casting and Candid Camera have teamed up to trick cable television, or this is the best real choice and the best hidden secret the republicans have made in decades.
