Will Tina Fey Encore on SNL as Sarah Palin? (AP via USAT)
Never mind all those questions about who will win the election: The more pressing concern for many viewers is whether Tina Fey will return to play Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live. The guest appearance by the show's former cast member and head writer was by all accounts a virtuoso impersonation and a viral hit. TV Guide: Palin says she found Fey's impersonation of her "funny."
New Yorker Column Short on Facts, Long on Attacks of ABC News (TVNewser)
The New Yorker's Steve Coll spent a column this week blasting ABC News over a variety of issues relating to Charlie Gibson's interview with Gov. Sarah Palin. But the overriding theme -- that ABC attempted to turn the interview into an entertainment event -- appears factually incorrect. We hear people inside ABC News are none too pleased with the New Yorker for its factual inaccuracies. P6: Katie Couric has reportedly landed the second big interview with Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
P6 = Page Six, the New York Post's gossip column. But let's repeat that line:
Katie Couric has reportedly landed the second big interview with Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
"Landed" the "second big interview?" This is absolutely absurd. Palin is being managed like an actress promoting a movie, not a candidate for the second highest office, and the media are not only playing along, they are infighting over who's handling it best.
Mr. Quinn is essentially correct. We can't attack Palin. We don't have time. We have to focus on the Obama message.
