Faux!Hampshire Runs Faux-ny Photo of President - and Faux-ny Story, Too

by: Kathy Sullivan 2

Tue May 25, 2010 at 17:36:33 PM EDT

(My sense is that FAUX!Hampshire, thankfully, has amassed a critical threshold of phoniness at this point in the eyes of the state media gatekeepers. Nontheless I agree with Kathy that this kind of nonsense needs to be pointed out regardless. - promoted by Dean Barker)

Faux!hampshire, which recently had to pull down a link to a story attacking a NH congressional candidate over ethnicity, today (1) has a story up claiming that President Obama is skipping Memorial Day observances and going on vacation (2) a link to a picture of the President and First Lady allegedly reciting the pledge with their left hands over the hearts, not their right, and (3) has a caption under the picture that says, "They hate America or are profoundly stupid".

Sean Millerick, who has taken over operation of the site from Patrick Hynes, may want to be careful when using terms like "profoundly stupid", as the picture he posts is a fake, and was proven to be a fake a long time ago.

Also, the link that Faux!hampshire has up to support its claim that the President is going to "skip" Memorial Day observances actually is a link to a story that says, the President and his family are returning to Chicago for the Memorial Day weekend.  It says,

According to a White House official, the Obamas will arrive Thursday and stay until Monday, when Obama will participate in a Memorial Day ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. The veterans' cemetery is about 50 miles south of Chicago.

So, run that "profoundly stupid" thing by me again?

I don't expect Faux!hampshire to pull these items down, or to apologize for [choose one] (a) making stuff up or (b) being profoundly, well, stupid. The site has become an ever more discredited faux-ny "news site", so why bother pointing these things out?

Because if we don't keep stating the facts when guys like Millerick and sites like Faux!Hampshire make stuff up, or fall for faux-ny stories off the internet, the traditional media may start to forget how untrustworthy a source the site has become. Well, it always was untrustworthy, now it is untrustworthy to a higher degree.

Not to mention that Faux!hampshire is the house internet shill for that other Sean, Mahoney, congressional candidate in the first district. Will Sean Mahoney call on his friends to pull down the lies that are now posted at Faux!hampshire regarding the President? Will he suggest to Millerick how profoundly inappropriate it is to call the President un-American based on a fake photo?

I won't hold my breath.

You're missing the best part of the post... (4.00 / 7)
I run Firefox with NoScript so that I don't get annoying animated ads.  It also tends to let me see things the webmasters didn't intend.  This time, the top of the page you linked to is filled with traffic-grabbers.... I quote, in part:

generique viagra prix vente viagra en pharmacie probleme erection viagra prix canada cialis au meilleur prix achat viagra belgique viagra sur ordonnance farmaco cialis 20 mg viagra veritable costo cialis in francia prescrizione cialis cialis generico effetti collaterali effet viagra sur les femmes viagra remboursement acquistare viagra farmacia viagra achat france viagra prix de vente cialis marche pas cialis generico online cialis quotidien cialis pour femme viagra su internet levitra sans ordonnance viagra 25 mg prix cialis à vendre sildenafil mexico sildenafil laboratorio chile veritable cialis viagra generico in farmacia cialis generique danger levitra costo in farmacia viagra sans ordonnance viagra sans ordonnances commande viagra france cialise medicament viagra online sicuro viagra vente libre tadalafil achat levitra effet secondaire cialis 20 mg prezzo in farmacia viagra bon prix viagra rapide cialis generico sicuro sildenafil peru commande viagra generique sildenafil mujer acheter cialis 20mg costi cialis vente kamagra costo levitra 10 mg tarif viagra levitra pas cher achat viagra pfizer acheter sildenafil acheter cialis viagra levitra prezzo in farmacia viagra effet secondaire cialis sans prescription pasteque

Go ahead.  Turn off javascript and take a look at the page.  Says something about how desperate they are for traffic, I would think.

You are my hero. (4.00 / 3)
That is brilliant!

And pathetic, of course.

How utterly humiliating. I second Dean, you are a hero.
