Hey! Who needs Palin? We New Englanders Don't!

by: TimothyHorrigan

Tue Aug 10, 2010 at 13:41:58 PM EDT

Just two years ago, Sarah Palin was the obscure and rather mediocre governor of a remote state with a tiny population.  But then, less than two years ago,
John McCain thrust greatness upon her by making her his running mate.  She did not became Vice President, but she did become a political ikon second only to Obama.

And now she is tantalizing us with the prospect of a  2012 Presidential run.

But the heck with her: we do not need her.  She has nothing to offer us here in New Hampshire which we can't find right here at home, or at least in a neighboring state.

TimothyHorrigan :: Hey! Who needs Palin? We New Englanders Don't!
If Palin's appeal is that she is the former mayor of a small city, we have: Lebanon, NH's very own Karen Liot Hill

If Palin's appeal is that she is a slightly eccentric ex-Governor who parlayed a quixotic run for national office into continued fame, we have: Burlington, VT's very own Howard Dean

If Palin's appeal is that she is a slightly eccentric ex-Governor who speaks in sentence fragments and who sometimes shows a bad temper, we have: Rye, NH's very own Judd Gregg

If Palin's appeal is that she is a slightly eccentric ex-Governor who blew a very winnable national election, we have: Brookline, MA's very own Mike Dukakis

If Palin's appeal is that she is a fierce but always ladylike Hockey Mom, we have: Bow, NH's very own Katrina Swett!  (Actually, I don't know if any of the Swett kids played hockey, but one of them did play Division I-AA college football.)

If Palin's appeal is that she is an ambitious woman who still lives in the same small town where she grew up, we have: Concord, NH's very own Ann McLane Kuster!

If Palin's appeal is that she is an ambitious and conservative woman who still lives in the same small town where she grew up, and who abruptly quit her job for no good reason, we have: Nashua, NH's very own Kelly Ayotte! (Yeah, I know Nashua is the second-biggest city in NH--- but in absolute terms it's not that big a place.)

(All these people, even Kelly Ayotte, are vastly more qualified to be President than Palin is.)

bah humbug...Ayotte proves herself to be a tool, like a hoe. Palin is beyond rational control like the weather, but sheand would accomplish more of Lucifer's agenda. She's a better liar, and just crazier. A dangerous woman, who speaks to know-nothings in our midst.

bad analogy (0.00 / 0)
I wanted to imply that in the rights hand Ayotte would be a useful tool, to hoe a row for the owners of the Republican party, but that Palin is out of control, like a hurricane. By taking her endorsement Ayotte is in bad hands.
Poor Dudd Gregg.

For a hockey mom... (4.00 / 1)
We've definitely got Dr. Susan Lynch, New Hampshire's First Lady - Hayden plays hockey.

Only the left protects anyone's rights.

watch out (4.00 / 1)
so does his dad, the Governor. Ask Rep. Gary Richardson...
