The pressure is mounting for Frank Guinta to fess up about his mystery money. Yet all it would take is a simple bank statement to put this story to rest.
An excerpt from a Shea-Porter campaign release (full version below the fold):
"Frank Guinta is hiding something and New Hampshire voters deserve to know what it is," said Shea-Porter campaign manager Robert Moller. "It's outrageous that Guinta has funded his campaign with hundreds of thousands of dollars from a bank account that he conveniently forgot to disclose. I'd like to know who would forget about a bank account with half a million dollars in it. It's as if a magical bank account suddenly appeared out of thin air, just when he needed it to fund his run for Congress.
SHEA-PORTER CAMPAIGN MANAGER CALLS ON GUINTA TO RELEASE BANK RECORDS
NEW HAMPSHIRE - Today, Shea-Porter campaign manager Robert Moller called on Frank Guinta to release the records from his mysterious bank account with half a million dollars in it. When Guinta first filed his FEC report earlier this year, he failed to report the account. There have been repeated calls - including several from well known Republicans - for Guinta to release this information.
Just like during last week's debate when he lied about his student loans, Frank Guinta is being dodgy with the facts, and he needs to come clean."
