POW! That has gotta hurt. (0.00 / 0)

Announcer: Congressman Charlie Bass voted to raise his own pay eight times.

Woman: Charlie, you've gotta be kidding me.

Man: Where's my pay raise?

Man 2: Who are you working for, Congressman?

Woman 2: You should be ashamed.

Announcer: Bass raised his own pay, but voted to cut Veterans' benefits.

Veteran 1: Congressman, I earned those benefits. You keep your hands off.

Veteran 2: Veterans deserve a whole lot better than that.

Man 3: Why would we ever...

Man 4: ...ever...

Woman: ...ever...

Man 2: ...ever take you back.

Woman: I am voting for Annie.

Veteran 3: Annie Kuster.

Woman 2: Annie works for New Hampshire.

Annie Kuster: I'm Annie Kuster and I approve this message.

Charlie's "Grass Roots" (0.00 / 0)
I saw on James Pindell's site today that Bass announced his grass roots teams leaders for Merrimack and Hillsborough Counties.  Among the "grass roots leaders are Cy Gregg, wealthy developer and brother of Judd, and friend of presidents Tom Rath. If Charlie is reduced to pumping up his "grass roots numbers" by listing Cy Gregg and Tom Rath, he is in trouble.

There Was (4.00 / 1)
a trenchant criticism of this campaign tactic today in a Laconia paper.  An habitue of a local diner where Annie was coming found that he and other regulars were overwhelmed by Kuster supporters showing up for her event, ordering only coffee (if that) and not giving the regulars a chance to meet or question her. The tone of the letter didn't criticize Annie or Democrats, just the tenor of the event.

So, do we go to the announced event?  Do we avoid them?  Do we just make sure we leave room for The Regular Gang?  It's a point to ponder.  Personally, I like the idea of the diner tour, but I hope she hits some places unannounced and mines some votes from groups who aren't ALREADY planning to vote for her.  She's certainly capable!

A liberal listens to a conservative and says "You may have a couple of points there.  Let's try to compromise.

A leftist listens to a conservative and says "Your ideas are ridiculous.  Shut up and listen."

What the hell is Rip Van Sununu doing? (0.00 / 0)
Sure, he is busy funnelling out of state money into the Granite State, but his slate is in trouble.

Whack-a-mole, anyone?

Someone challenged me (on Facebook) to come up with Democratic accomplishments over the past few years. (4.00 / 2)
Just off the top of my head,

-Recovery Act
-Race to the Top
-SCHIP Expansion
-Ledbetter Act
-Saving Detroit
-New START Treaty
-Nuclear Security Summit
-Ending the War in Iraq
-Renminbi revaluation
-Credit Card Reform
-Healthcare Reform
-Student Loan Reform
-Wall Street Reform
-Putting Elizabeth Warren in charge of the Consumer Financial Protection Agency which, by the way, exists
-Justice Sonia Sotomayor
-Justice Elena Kagan
-Matthew Shepard Act
-Widening I93 (it's in progress, you can see the new pavement, and it's a Recovery Act project)
-Marriage Equality in New Hampshire
-Minimum Wage raised
-Ending the Global Gag Rule/Mexico City Policy
-Reversing the federal stem cell research funding ban
-FDA beginning stem cell research trials
-Getting BP to put $20 billion in escrow for Deepwater Horizon victims (that rig was already up and running well before Obama expanded offshore drilling, you can't blame him for the spill)
-That Schumer bill that passed a few weeks ago outlawing commercials that are louder than the TV show they interrupt
-Not being John McCain
-Not being Sarah Palin
-Not being Mitch McConnell
-Not being John Boehner
-Not being Eric Cantor
-Not pandering to Glenn Beck
-Not "doubling Guantanamo", as Romney wanted to
-Not invading Iran, as Cheney wanted to
-Not torturing people, as Bush did
-Not saying "nuculur"
-Getting the world to like America again (polls show we are once again the most popular country in the world)
