Tell Your Neighbors the truth about Cornerstone's Mail and Gov. Lynch!

by: Pamela Walsh

Sat Oct 23, 2010 at 17:59:15 PM EDT

(How ironic that a group with alleged Christian values is basically, and falsely, equating John Lynch to a sex offender.  John Lynch, who has been more successful than any other governor in keeping poverty at bay for his citizens. Disgusting.  NB: both links are in .pdf format. - promoted by Dean Barker)

ACTION ALERT: MAKE SURE YOUR NEIGHBORS KNOW THE TRUTH!

A vile, outrageous and false attack from the National Organization of Marriage/Cornerstone Action arrived in many of mailboxes across New Hampshire this week. We need your help to make sure your neighbors know the truth!

The mail piece, which you can see here, continues John Stephen and company's false attacks on Gov. Lynch's strong record of public safety.

Here's how you can help. Print out this flyer and distribute it your neighbors so that they know the truth: John Stephen's attacks are what the Portsmouth Herald has called "a cheap political trick."

Pamela Walsh :: Tell Your Neighbors the truth about Cornerstone's Mail and Gov. Lynch!

It's clear that John Stephen and his friends will stoop to new lows in their desperate attempts to turn back the clock on the progress we've made. We need your help now more than ever. Here's what you can do.

1) Distribute this flyer to your friends, neighbors and co-workers

2) Send a letter to the editor today about why you are supporting Gov. Lynch

3) Sign up to volunteer in the final 10 days.

4) Make a financial contribution so we have the resources to fight back against these attacks.

Gov. Lynch has fought hard for the people of New Hampshire for six years. For the next 10 days, we need to all fight for him so he can keep making a difference.

Thank you for your support!

Hmmmm.

Putting Lynch in the "lineup" was slick.

We've received some nasty fliers about Michelle Tremblay and Paul Hodes as well.  The attach ads this year seem more extreme than ever. It's sickening, and hopefully will backfire on these evil people.

note to close readers: this might be sarcastic so think twice before reading to candidates for use in their attacks on each other

The line between proselytizing and propaganda (0.00 / 0)
is every thin.  Just as health care is perceived as a profit center, so it education.  The Bible curriculum in Texas seems to be profitable.

Um, thanks Pam, but why in the hell (4.00 / 1)
doesn't this flyer say that the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police, victim advocacy groups and former Republican Speaker Donna Sytek all supported this bill?

Or that Republican Senator Bob Letourneau, Republican Senate Majority Leader Peter Bragdon and NH Reps David Welch and Neal Kurk co-sponsored it? Or that Republicans in the Legislature supported it 89-55? It's not like you're not packing in a ton of text already.

A hell of a lot of people know that anyone calling a Welch-Kurk-Letourneau sponsored bill a freebie for felons is a liar.

And if you want people to reject the attacks and the attacker, the fact that the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police supported the bill means a hell of a lot more than the fact they support Lynch for reelection.

This flyer defends what Lynch has done, and then has a bunch of (easily disregarded media) quotes saying the attacks are bogus. It's a predictable, boring and inadequate defense, when Stephen's and Cornerstone's dishonesty has given you a fantastic opening for an attack. Y'know, it's kind of a good thing to just flat out prove that your opponent's attacks are complete garbage. Don't say, "This is junk, and these editors agree;" show us.

Try this on for size -- put the quotes on the flip side of the flyer, and replace them with this:

FACT: The New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police and the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence both supported SB500 [note: I'm guessing on NHCADSV here; if they did not formally support SB500, substitute a similar group that did].

FACT: Former Republican NH House Speaker Donna Sytek supported SB500.

FACT: Republican Senator Bob Letourneau, Republican Senate Majority Leader Peter Bragdon and Republican Representatives David Welch and Neal Kurk cosponsored SB500.

FACT: Republicans in the Legislature voted 89-55 in favor of SB500.

FACT: John Stephen isn't telling the truth about SB500.

FACT: New Hampshire deserves a governor who doesn't put politics above the safety of New Hampshire's citizens.

Help yourself.

Your point? (0.00 / 0)
Is it that I shouldn't constructively criticize an official production that is better than nothing when it is both extremely important and easy for it to be far better?

What would you think if someone told you that, or dismissed your contribution with an eyeroll and an "Everybody's a critic"?

I think we both know what your reaction would be, and that portions of it would be unprintable. Mine is no different.

There is a certain nastiness that has a familiar odor. (0.00 / 0)
Perhaps there's a clue here in a "gentleman" named Deal Wyatt Hudson who's becoming overtly political on the part of candidates in New Jersey and Ohio, promoting a "Catholic" agenda from another direction than the one he promoted for GW Bush.
