Damn... I should have got a sitter for the kids so I could be there.... Will have to live vicariously through the #NHROOTS hash tag. Very awesome to hear that folks like Hassan, Cilley and DeVries are there!

This should auto update whenever tweets with #nhroots hash tag.

more questions (4.00 / 1)
than answers...America Votes provided good results and analysis given what is so far available. Sen.Hassan spoke warmly of the need for Democrats to begin connecting with the voters 'spirit'.I am not sure though what Holden means by out of the park. For progressives that would be, if asked when she decides if she's running for Governor, to announce whether or not she will take the pledge? If no, then that's out of the park. Sen. Cilley was a marketing teacher so she talked about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, then spoke of a strategy session upcoming at her house with 35 friends, to develop a mission statement and then a strategy to take back both chambers. Sen. DeVries spoke from the gut. She is keeping her campaign mode continued, and since she's still a manchester alderman that makes sense. She'll campaign for Democratic values on the grassroots level, door to door if necessary.
I enjoyed the breakout session I attended called Democrtas on Offense, by the Rollinsford Community Garden guys, and seeing other Hampsters.
Thank you Xandra, Katie, participants and sponsors. Nice to
see Dean,Jennifer Daler,Mike Caulfield,StraffordDem, and Brian Rater. TimC took a name tag off a sandwich and I became Turkey. A fitting end to a lovely day.

Great to see everyone... (4.00 / 1)
and as always it was a pleasure to hang out with Mr. Bad. I'm a skeptic when it comes to the capacity of conferences (or "unconferences") to produce practical strategy, but I think the group yesterday articulated a clear goal, which is 1) on November 6, 2012, we're taking it all back; 2) We need an innovative, agile and sustainable strategy for message crafting, mass communication, base engagement, voter mobilization, and field implementation; 3) we need a bunch of money - the figure that Maggie Hassan mentioned sounds about right to me, and would give us the level of ground capacity we had in '08, but with all those resources concentrated on winning state races.

The important question that came up repeatedly yesterday was: who leads the charge? Will NHDP be able to renew its operating culture and move beyond the conventional formula of how to win elections for Democrats, or will an independent, parallel organization start up to do the heavy lifting?

Connecting with Voters (0.00 / 0)

Sen.Hassan spoke warmly of the need for Democrats to begin connecting with the voters 'spirit'.

Let's hear more about this. A new strategy?

The unconference was (0.00 / 0)
great. Very inspiring. There are many people ready to work hard to protect our gains over the next two years and to organize for our comeback in 2012.

I wished all day (0.00 / 0)
that I could have been there, but I am on the board of a local organization that has a strategy session coming up, we really needed to prepare and I needed to be there.  Land protection will be much harder to get funds for under the new regime, so anything anyone can share with me to help would be most welcome.

I am still in pain from the election, trying not to lose my cool, and hoping to meet after the end of the year with locals who want to keep moving forward on the down escalator, when I will have more time (I am blessed in this day and age to be able to retire on a modest income [I hope it will suffice if we are careful] and I have a good network and a lot of options on how to spend my precious time).

Please keep talking about what you all are doing.  I need you desperately to keep me from crawling in a hole and pulling it in after me.
