Open Thread: Happy Birthday BH

by: Dean Barker

Four years ago we turned the lights on here. Some stats as of this morning:
5,118 Registered Users

11,484 - Diaries

101,970 - Comments

1,190,255 - Site Visits

4,436,497 - Page Views

2 - Characters in our Twitter handle

0 - Paywalls

$0.00 - Cost to join

$0.00  - Subsidies from Eagle Publishing, Inc.

Adding: I got my start blogging in the height of Republican control of everything, when the excellence of George Bush and his great and glorious War in Iraq were not to be questioned. Unchecked radical right-wingerism sure has a way of getting folks' attention. It's going to be an interesting two years in Concord.

This is an Open Thread.

My goodness, I'm tired so early in the morning.  You've become a necessary way to generate dialogue and critical thinking among those who care about their state and their nation.  Good job, and Happy Birthday.

And thank you.

Thank you, Jim! (0.00 / 0)
You always make this place interesting and make us think!

Thank goodness (4.00 / 3)
for Blue Hampshire.  Without you all I would have to furnish my hole in the ground and pull it in after me.

Thanks for coming, and contributing! (0.00 / 0)

Happy Birthday! (4.00 / 4)
And special cheer for those who have kept the lights on these four long years, and provided illuminating conversation for all to join.

Congratulations (4.00 / 3)
Congratulations for four years of service to the people of New Hampshire.  You have created a unique community of individuals who can feel free to share their opinions and to discuss issues in an open environment.

Thank you

Happy birthday 2 U (4.00 / 5)
And thank you for providing a forum that can be enjoyable, supportive, infuriating, funny as all get out - and always, always, a great place to visit, and which welcomes particpation by everyone, even if from the party "establishment" or Massachusetts;)

I think what I most value about your contributions here (4.00 / 3)
is that your diaries are typically so detailed and well done and pertinent to the issues covered on BH that reading through it almost becomes secondary to knowing I've got to get them on the front page ASAP.

(If folks think it's your name that gets you up there, they are wrong.)

So, right back at you - thanks for that!

Thank you one and all (4.00 / 3)
for creating a virtual home for people who are interested in making New Hampshire and the USA a better place for EVERYONE, not just themselves.

They. Don't. Care.
We do.
Rinse, repeat.

Happy Birthday BH! (4.00 / 1)

I ran out of stamina trying to thank you all individually - you are what make this place great.

Happy Birthday BH (4.00 / 1)

How to go.

Please keep it going. This is a little niche of sanity for me.

The timing of the birthday (4.00 / 1)
Always reminds me how exhausted we all were from the 2006 election, and we still decided to do this, less than two weeks later.

A lot of time stamina is worth far more than brilliance or strategy. The site has now lasted longer than Bush I's presidency, here's to another four years....
