Over the past 4 years this Obscure Blog:
  • Has registered 3810 users (Granted two of those users have been banned for being Republican sockpuppets; RockinNH, and our latest BlueManGroup. (The number is three if you count proto-sockpuppet and Charlie Bass Staffer IndyNH AKA Tad Furtado who was caught by our founders prior to the creation of BH. He's so famous he made it all the way to Wikipedia!
  • Founders have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Good Morning America, and are regularly contacted for comments by the State press.
  • Has had nearly 500k Unique Vistors and 4.6 million Pageviews

Over the past 4 months the NH GOP has:

  • Focused like a Laser on the Budget and Economy Guns and Mike Brunelle
  • Been caught playing footsie with Cornerstone, Bitherism and Nullification
  • Made NH the laughing stock of the nation
I'll take our record over Majority Leader's Bettencourt's anyday.

Obscurity is only important to grand-standers. (0.00 / 0)
They haven't a clue what a labor of love actually is.

Despite all the snarkiness and YouTube embeds, (4.00 / 5)
BlueHampshire takes our state more seriously than Mr. O'Brien's House does.

to goof, now and then. Otherwise, ya get an ulcer.

Mr. O'Brien, most certainly, is giving more ulcers than he is getting.

To be clear, (4.00 / 1)
I am totally in favor of snarkiness and YouTube embeds.

Indicators (4.00 / 1)
The snark is indicative of seriousness; the embeds too.

they sure didn't think (4.00 / 4)
BH was obscure when they were calling for my head a few weeks ago.

The Google fails me (4.00 / 1)
What is the source of the "obscure blog" theme meme?

D.J. Bettencourt (4.00 / 3)
"Instead of offering positive constructive ideas on the difficult budgetary decisions ahead, the Democrats would rather resort to an absurd inquisition over silly comments made by someone on an obscure blog."

The line between greatness and obscurity is very, very small - Peabo Bryson

I participate here, more than some other NH political sites that I frequently read, because I disagree the most with what I read here, which spurs me to reply (More for http://xkcd.com/386 and not so much for http://xkcd.com/326 )

The discussion, despite the insults I draw, is the true thing of value to me.  Political change is about discussion, exposure to new ideas, new facts, new ways of seeing the world.  Twitter and Facebook don't change the world only by connecting people of like minds to take action, but by connecting diverse minds to consider new viewpoints.

You won't see me posting on some important topics here (unless asked, as a few have, and I don't promise to respond always), because we plain disagree on very fundamental points, and I don't see how dialogging on those is going to move anyone to change, it would only serve to antagonize which isn't my goal in coming here.

If I do post, I try and make it factual, or at least interesting, in the hope of sparking dialogues and discussions.  But that's me, I can see how people on both sides of the aisle might not find value in that attempt to bridge the gap.

Gee, I thought it was a diary about BlueHampshire. (4.00 / 2)
But now I see that, like everything in life, it was really about Seth Cohn.

The topic: "is BH obscure?" (0.00 / 0)
My (personal) answer was No, not for me, because I find it valuable.

But hey, if you want to trivialize those who actually find you interesting, so be it.
