uh oh: CACR 6 may be coming back

The Republican Liberty Caucus of NH group (not to be confused with any other group with the word "Liberty" in its name) posted the following in a weekly newsletter dated Sunday March 20th:

Restrict growth of government
CACR 6, which would require a 3/5 vote in the House to raise taxes, was voted on and then tabled last week, but is coming back to the floor this week. There are a number of Republicans who voted against it in last week's vote. Please email all representatives at HReps@leg.state.nh.us and ask them to support this constitutional amendment. Also, contact the Republicans who voted against it and apply some pressure. This is a core Republican issue, and every Republican should support this effort!
TimothyHorrigan :: uh oh: CACR 6 may be coming back
CACR 6 was a proposed constiutional amendment which would require a 60% supermajority in the House and Senate before taxes or fees can be raised or created (although a simple majority would still be needed to lower or abolish taxes and fees.)

It is a very bad amendment because it makes it  virtually impossible to restructure our current tax system, and it also makes it hard to balance the budget.  Moreover, all fees and many taxes could no longer be raised to account for inflation.

It needed 239 votes in the House (3/5 of all current members) to be sent to the Senate.  It only got 234, all from Republicans.  (It doesn't really matter how many voted against it, but I will say that there were  118 who voted against it, and 46 who did not vote at all.) But it may not be dead.  It was Tabled after the Ought to Pass motion fails which means it could still be resuscitated.

And at least one rightwing GOP offshoot thinks it can and should be resuscitated.

Bit of a loss. (0.00 / 0)
I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to refer to these people. Calling them selfish doesn't represent them accurately, if only because, while they are self-centered, they seem to have no sense of self and, therefor, no sense of their relationship to anyone else. We could call them predators, except for the fact that other natural predators don't normally prey on their own kind.

I think female exemplars used to be referred to as "man eaters."
