Big Brother O'Brien

Governor Lynch vetoed some bills this week. One was a bill to expand the use of deadly force. From the Monitor

In the House, where the bill passed 283-89, Speaker William O'Brien and Majority Leader D.J. Bettencourt characterized the veto as a rejection of the rights of gun owners.

Oh?
The leaders of the New Hampshire Association of Chiefs of Police and the New Hampshire Sheriffs Association asked Lynch to veto the bill in a letter last week. They said the legislation would alter a careful balance between the right to use deadly force in self-defense and the safety of innocent bystanders.

Because O'Brien and Deej know more than the state's law enforcement agencies.

Another bill would allow parents who objected to course material being taught in classrooms to request alternative lesson plans. This could be a real fiesta in a classroom of 30 kids. No French Revolution for you! No science! No Black History Month! No Suffragists!

"This legislation in essence gives every individual parent of every student in a classroom a veto over every single lesson plan developed by a teacher," Lynch said in the message.

Oh?
O'Brien said he is confident the House will vote to override the veto, as lawmakers did with the governor's veto of a bill requiring girls to tell a parent or judge before having an abortion. He said public schools should have policies allowing students to do other work if an assignment offends their parents

Because O'Brien knows more about what your kids should be taught than teachers do.

The Teabaglicans ran on a platform of "cut spending, no taxes, jobs, jobs, jobs." What they've focused on is a lot of Big Brotherly social engineering. In our classrooms, our courtrooms, our marriages, our bedrooms, and women's reproductive organs.

It seems their laser is really  focused on turning NH into a paternalistic dicktatorship.

Just wait, there will be some kind of whackadoo at a town meeting introducing an article to abolish the town police force, "Why have it if we can shoot anyone who threatens us?"

These winger legislators (4.00 / 1)
here and across the country are taking the marching orders from groups like this one:

It's no wonder there seems to be such a huge attack on working families, and little attention to jobs, jobs, jobs.  Unlike the Bush administration's zero job growth, their record will end with negative job growth.  They lied to the citizens of New Hampshire.

2012 can't come soon enough.
