Despite Session #6's moderator (4.00 / 2)
this looks to be pretty awesome.

So many candidates to meet!

If he's the moderator... (4.00 / 1)
....should we expect him to be "moderate?"

Just call me "mediocritas aurea." n/t (3.50 / 2)

those folks (4.00 / 2)
who were at the last Carroll County Democrat's dinner know better. That Dean Barker gave a pretty great speech, thereby making the person who suggested him look pretty good as well.

When's the next one? (0.00 / 0)
I'm a Dem, and in Carroll County, so...

I don't think they've set a date yet (4.00 / 1)
Michael. There's going to be a picnic on the 26th, in the afternoon, at the Notchland Inn, in Hart's Location. There's a temporary bridge, so now you can get there from here:

The Carroll County Democratic Committee picnic
has been rescheduled and relocated, and we hope
you'll still be able to join us! The picnic will
be on Monday, September 26, starting at 5:30pm at
the Notchland Inn on Route 302 in Harts
Location. It will be followed at 7pm by a
regular meeting of Carroll County Democrats. The
meeting features a speaker from New Hampshire
Voices for Health on New Hampshire's response to
the federal effort to reform the health care
system, an effort crucial to our health,
including our long-term economic health. We hope
you'll come for both parts of the evening, but if
that's not possible, try to make one or the other.

The picnic combines the social with the political
we've invited contenders for our congressional
seat, and for state and local offices to be on
hand to meet, greet and eat with the
membership. The County Democrats will provide
hotdogs, hamburgers, vegetarian burgers, and
beverages, but attendees with names beginning
with A to M are asked to bring a salad or
appetizer; N to Z a dessert. There is no charge
for the picnic, though contributions will be
gratefully accepted.

IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND, PLEASE RSVP TO:
office@ccnhdemocrats.org.
Prompt RSVP will help us to accurately estimate the food order.

The Freedman Award (4.00 / 3)
The Freedman Award is such a surprise I don't even know who I am presenting it to yet.

But on a serious note, it is an honor to present this award. I miss Anita.

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."  Franklin D. Roosevelt

True! (4.00 / 1)
But you will be VERY happy with the choice! VERY happy!

Have you told a stranger today about Bill O'Brien and his Tea Party agenda? The people of NH deserve to hear about O'Brien  and his majority committed to destroying New Hampshire and remaking it into a armed survivalist preserve.

[ Parent ]
I was very honored to receive it. n/t (0.00 / 0)

note to close readers: this might be sarcastic so think twice before reading to candidates for use in their attacks on each other

[ Parent ]
Anita And Norm Freedman (4.00 / 1)
Your mention of Freedman remind me how much I miss Anita and Norm.  They were incredible people.  I can hear Anita now -- she wouldn't be "frustrated" by the Republicans in Washington and Concord; she would just be angry as hell and fired up for 2012!

Portsmouth politics just isn't the same without them both.

[ Parent ]
Nat Bresler Intern Scholarship to encourage participation by our new leaders (4.00 / 8)
We will kick off a new program to help encourage High School and College age Democrats to be involved in campaigns. Often today the best young people cannot afford to volunteer on campaigns...they need to earn money for ever increasing costs of college etc.

Our idea is to award two summer scholarships for campaigns workers next summer~ a stipend of 300./week for 8 weeks.
The Scholarships will be awarded in the Spring, and the selection will be based on an essay submissions in January and February.

The possible topics to be covered will center on Social Inequalities. Nat wrote to us of his belief that until we address social inequalities in our country and the world, we will not address economic inequality. Race, Gender, Class and Environmental degradation are all part of the equation.

A committee made up of NHDP officers, the YD's President and College Dems President along with a representative from our family will read and choose the awardees. We will need help getting apps out late this year, so that all SAU's and Colleges are informed. It may be a facebook event.
Thanks to Mike Brunelle, Ray Buckely, Mike Vlacich, and Debby Butler for helping get this off the ground.

What a fantastic idea! (0.00 / 0)
Not to be rude, but what is the age requirement?

[ Parent ]
Dem Stuff (0.00 / 0)
We will have a virtual department store of Democratic party and campaign memorabilia!

Literaly THOUSANDS of campaign buttons to pick from!

Every imaginable item will be there!

Bring your cash!
