Quote of the Day: So Much More to Do

by: William Tucker

Sun Sep 25, 2011 at 08:22:45 AM EDT

In an email to supporters, Carol Shea-Porter celebrates the energy at yesterday's Democratic Party convention and frames the upcoming campaign:

Today I went to the New Hampshire Democratic Party Convention, and hope was soaring in the room! The DNC Chair, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, spoke eloquently about the work the Democrats did for all Americans, and I was proud that I was part of that historic Congress.

Remember? We passed the Health Care Bill, which, among other things, allowed young people to stay on a parent's plan until age 26 and stopped treating women as a "pre-existing condition." We ended "Too Big to Fail" on Wall Street, passed the Lilly Ledbetter Act, tackled the Iraq War, voted for Credit Card Reform, and kept America from falling into a Depression after the October, 2008 Wall Street disaster. It was the most productive Congress since Roosevelt!

There is so much more to do...

Carol Shea-Porter Is Incredible (4.00 / 1)
From the first day I met her, I've been impressed by Carol Shea-Porter's idealism, compassion, and intelligence.

There is so much more that SHE can do for New Hampshire and America.

Stand with Carol (4.00 / 2)
and stand FOR Carol.  She needs all our help to go back to Congress and continue her work for NH and all Americans.  She is the best congressperson I ever had and I want her back!

The Iraq war, btw, is continuing to wind down. Just this week, (0.00 / 0)
the armed forces radio station in Baghdad went dark.  There are still 48,000 troops to move out, plus much of their equipment.  However, the Administration insists they are on track to leave just 3000 personnel behind, mostly to service the embassy and provide some liaison and training.
If you hear reports of Iraqis arguing for a continuing presence, that's because the Kurds in the north have not managed to content themselves with their region and keep permitting ragtag groups to launch incursions into Turkey and Iran. They want the U.S. to protect them from retaliation.
Turkey, meanwhile has agreed to host a U.S. facility for monitoring and from which drones can be launched.

Guinta Must Go (4.00 / 1)
The energy, determination, and the focus of the party came out loud and clear at the convention.

Our job is to connect with independent voters and let them see that we are on their side, Guinta and the others are not. The voters are indeed starting to get that. We need to show the reasons why Guinta must go and that it is clearly in the citizens' interest to replace him.

No'm Sayn?

Guinta (4.00 / 1)
Voted against increasing the FEMA budget to help states rebuild after Irene. He voted against his state - he voted against his country.

Meanwhile, the US is going to build an enormous prison in Bagram. Eric Cantor has never requested budget cuts to offset building in Iraq or Afghanistan. Guinta, Bass, and Ayotte all voted against their constituents. That needs to get shoved up their noses every single day.

I'm with Carol Day in and Day out. But it will take all of us to send Frank packing (0.00 / 0)
Carol is in gear.

Her troops are fully engaged.

The Dems at the convention are in gear.

Let's build on this. Every day counts and all of us have to do all we can to make sure Frank Guinta doesn't represent us.

Every day counts

Let's go team.
