by: Putney Swope

Mon Oct 03, 2011 at 22:15:58 PM EDT

Bishop Gene Robinson, the Episcopal Bishop of New Hampshire since 2004, will receive the New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union's Bill of Rights Award at NHCLU's annual Bill of Rights dinner on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Fratello's in Manchester.  The award will celebrate Bishop Robinson's courage, leadership and wisdom as a social justice activist locally and nationally throughout his career.  Jon W. Davidson, the national legal director for Lambda Legal, the largest and oldest LGBT advocacy group in the United States, will be the lead speaker at the event, which begins at 6:00 PM.  Tickets are $50/person and are available by calling the NHCLU at 603-225-3080.

An Incredible Courageous Man (4.00 / 1)
Thanks for sharing the information.  Well deserving for an incredible courageous man who has done so much -- here for us in New Hampshire, and throughout the world as well.  He's changed lives for the better.

Great choice (4.00 / 1)
I heard him at a Senate budget hearing.  His commitment to the care of the vulnerable was so obviously an integral part of his soul.

Definitely A Mensch (4.00 / 1)
And a wonderful inspirational human being.

No'm Sayn?
