That in itself was worth the effort.
But then I lucked into something else. In the video Frank tells a long story about a health care innovation that he worked on while Mayor of Manchester. Of course its a private sector solution. Joan went over that innovation on the merits--some of which were pretty good.
Frank's story was 2 minutes and 38 seconds long. We both watched it over and over, but neither one of us ever doubted that Frank Guinta played the role in the Manchester story that he said he did.
We gave him the benefit of the doubt and boy we were wrong!
Despite our skepticism Frank had fooled us and I'm sure he fooled everyone who was there that August day.
You can check it out yourself.I think its quote entertaining. It'll tick you off too, because Frank took credit for work done by City employees to save taxes in Manchester. He
co-opted their efforts.
All of which shows definitively that Frank Guinta will look you in the eye and sell you a tall tale without a second thought.
So then bundle all this with the work that Dean Barker has done exposing Frank's Deceptions. Then add in Lucy Edwards coverage of Frank's phony media machinery. Others have contributed too. You get the picture I'm sure.
The point is this: We've got all this ammunition now let's put it too good use.
So here's the strategy and the logic behind it.
1. In his first 8 months in office Frank Guinta has established a demonstrable pattern of deception.
2. This pattern of deception is well documented and has now reached the tipping point. Mr. Guinta has thoroughly undermined his own credibility.
3. Given Mr. Guinta's documented pattern of deception, now it's time for a concerted effort to force Mr. Guinta to show his bank record and prove once and for all that he didn't cheat his way into office.
I don't expect him to answer, but I'd like to watch ten flimsy denials on Video.
Right now though we're giving Frank a pass. We don't have forever. Frank's only been asked the question once in all the Town Hall Meetings I've attended. I happened to do the asking and his answer was weak weak weak. That was last Spring in Conway and since then I haven't read or seen any accounts of that question being asked.
Let's stop giving Frank a pass.
Frank Guinta should never hold a live event without being asked about the $355,000 he "loaned" his campaign.
I've had a few people tell me its a dead issue. It is NOT a dead issue.
Just re-frame it with all of the documented fibs Franks has served up.
And get it on video.
The NH press does treat this like a dead issue, but if Mr. Guinta's credibility itself becomes an issue the whole ballgame could changed. But that's not going to happen until we make it happen.
There's plenty of time to visit my website--its not time sensitive--but every time Frank holds a constituent meeting without someone asking him where he got the money, we've squandered an opportunity.
Backchannel I'm going to be speaking to a lot of people and groups about this. But BH is the hub of activism in NH and the readers here know what to do.
With luck a number of D.C. watchdog groups might put a wee amount of pressure on the Federal Election Commission to do its job. The FEC can force Frank to hand over his bank statements. Who knows if the FEC will wake up or not, but if we don't raise a din and clamor nothing is going to happen.
Let's get a focussed buzz going.
