Meta: Tags/Subjects

Over in the right column I'm experimenting with displaying some of our tags as "Subjects" to aid in navigating the great content here on BH.

A couple of questions for you all:
- Do you like?
- Does the tag nomenclature make sense?
- Should there be more/others?

There is no magic that happens other than displaying all diaries tagged "NH-01" when you click "NH-01". That is to say, if you decide to use "NH1" it will not show up when you click "NH-01" so it would be helpful if we all can try to use the same taxonomy.

Suggestions? Comments?

I think most user should be able to edit tags on any diary... so feel free to help organize things/clean up tags

I like it - a lot (4.00 / 1)
It will make the site much more useful. (And it will encourage me to start using tags again.)

I would suggest some policy tags, too: maybe Taxation, Education, Environment, Voting Rights, Labor, Marriage Equality... Maybe we'll need some sort of folder structure so we don't hog the whole margin?

Great idea. I like it! (0.00 / 0)
But FYI: there's a tag wrinkle that I never remedied back when I was running the site.

NH-Sen diaries refer, ala dKos taxonomy, to news regarding our two US senators, not the state senate (that's why we have so many - from the 2008 and 2010 races).

Also on dKos, the state senate tag taxonomy is state-SD (for senate district) - number.

So, NH-SD-05, e.g., would be how it goes. Though I'm not anyone's been doing it here.
