S.O.S. ---Save Our Sanity!

Stop!  Demonstration tomorrow outside the Peterborough Townhouse.  3:00 PM.  Bring banners with "Pisgah: Forever Wild" and "Save Our Parks."

Bring yer unbrellas...It may rain...

Have you considered this? (0.00 / 0)
As I understand it, the provision to transfer/sell the state parks is tucked into the budget bill, HB1, or the trailer bill, HB2. (I assume it is- I can't find it.)  You can't undo this provision without killing the budget. Amendments aren't possible. The only option the House and Senate have is to accept or not accept the final compromise budget as approved by the senate and house conferees.

As bad as this idea is, is it worth killing the budget over?  My sense is "No".

My sense is yes (0.00 / 0)
Admittedly, I don't know enough about the process to say so conclusively, but we can go back and tweak the budget as painful as it will be, but we can never get these lands back once they are sold.

Public officials who keep the people riled up (0.00 / 0)
need to be retired.  I'm reminded of the parable of the unjust steward who wrote off what his master's debtors' owed to feather his own nest.
