Infantine Drops Out of Alderman Race, Rails Against BH

by: Dean Barker

Thu Jul 23, 2009 at 21:54:18 PM EDT

Truly bizarre:
Infantine delivered a letter of resignation to the Manchester City Clerk's office today at 2 p.m. He announced the news on his Manchester Community Access Media television this evening. During his show he delivered harsh attacks on state Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley and bloggers at www.BlueHampshire.com.

In an interview, Infantine said that after he filed for office he got word that a competitor had changed his mind and accepted a bid to have Infantine buy him out. He said the new business acuquisition would need his attention.

Was it the picture of Garth and Barry that did it?

If the kids can't bop to it, it's bombsville.

So which is it? (0.00 / 0)
A new business deal, or the mean bloggers?

I'm really sick of crass idiots like this who don't respect voters enough to tell the truth.

Will isn't a bad guy (4.00 / 1)
There's no need to call him a "crass idiot". There are certainly a lot of bottom feeders in Manchester politics, but Will Infantine, despite my problems with much of his voting record, is not one of them.

America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand. -Harry Truman

OK (0.00 / 0)
I'll retract that.

He is acting crass and idiotic, though, in giving two different and contradictory reasons for his resignation. One of them is a lie. My money is on the first one.

Can someone post the letter? (0.00 / 0)
I'm curious as to what exactly he said.

This is weird (4.00 / 1)
What I saw was a lot of people praising Garth Corriveau for being a smart and dedicated new voice in Manchester politics. I didn't see anyone mention Will at all.

For the record, (4.00 / 1)
This is the second Blue Hampshire diary to be tagged "Will Infantine", ever.  The first was posted in May, and had nothing to do with the race for Alderman.

Maybe that's his beef with us. (0.00 / 0)
Goggle site search doesn't find him here, either.

"Change City Hall" Campaign Continues (4.00 / 1)
First, I'd like to thank Rep. Infantine for his service as a citizen legislator and congratulate him on his new business venture. Our campaign has no doubt that he would have waged a spirited aldermanic campaign. Furthermore, our campaign truly appreciates the invaluable role Blue Hampshire plays in the NH political debate, particularly the free-flowing conversation and debate it fosters - a debate our campaign looked forward to having with Rep. Infantine.

There is a great deal of work ahead of us though. On September 15th our campaign faces TWO Republican opponents and apparently a united right-wing effort now vehemently determined to stop us from bringing change to Manchester's City Hall.

We need your support - your encouraging words, the doorknocking and phone-calling skills you perfected in 2008, and perhaps a small dollar contribution as we strive together to bring new energy and optimism to City Hall.
