Jennifer Horn live-tweeted the Obama presser, taking shots at POTUS all the way, including:
#tcot #gop why is the only alternative "doing nothing" Couldn't we actually write legislation that fixes the problem?
Well, apparently, her Grand Old Party can't:
"GOP leaders urged Democrats to start over on their health bill Thursday without saying when they will release a bill of their own," Roll Call reports.

"House Republicans released a four-page outline of their ideas five weeks ago, promising to release details and a bill."

"But Republicans have yet to do so. They still haven't said how much their plan will cost, how they will pay for it or how many people their plan will cover, although they have said it will be cheaper than the $1.6 trillion House Democratic plan and build on a private health insurance system without a government-run insurance option."

She "live tweeted" it? (4.00 / 3)
This would be the same idea as, "She sat out on the front steps and talked about it to nobody in particular" ?

I'm having trouble keeping up.

Still green, I see (4.00 / 2)
Republicans are split into two camps on their plan:

1. Do nothing now.
2. Do nothing later.

They'll work it out, though.

Sorry to quibble, but repeating the quote from political wire (0.00 / 0)
is not helpful.  In other reports, the initial CBO estimate was for one trillion over ten years, which, considering that the current total expenditure for health care is $2.3 trillion a year means we're looking at one dollar out of twenty three more a year.  But, that CBO analysis was based on a rough draft, so to speak.  More recent scoring makes suggests no increase or a surplus.

That we're not getting more numbers from the opposition is suspicious in itself.

Private insurance can't compete with Medicare and it's not because Medicare negotiates lower rates (the rates are a scandal--having paid bills for my mother and my spouse, I know that what is billed is actually double what providers expect to be paid and what Medicare paid was totally fair).  It's because "compete" has come to mean "destroy" and government programs are designed not to fail.  Indeed, that's what we assign to government--functions whose failure would be disasterous.
