...by making it virtually impossible to do so.

The Monkey Wrench swings in any direction it wishes, apparently.

Could It Be? (0.00 / 0)
I've been hearing more and more speculation that our Judd is running for his party's nomination for...

Yes, you guessed it. He sure has been high profile lately, ever since he sought the commerce sec'y job.

He's played all sides of his party, fooling many along the way.
Anybody else hearing such absurd notions?

No'm Sayn?

How cryptic - (0.00 / 0)
It couldn't be Senator - he quitting that post.

It couldn't be New Hampshire Party Chair - that's already filled.

It couldn't be Governor - his "privatize the parks" is just about as popular as his Mediscam scheme to balance the budget.

If he can't be a plausible candidate for any of these offices, what could he be thinking of?

(I know, I know - you're hinting at a Presidential run. But that's way too much work for AWOL Judd. Maybe he has a book coming out, and is pulling a Gingrich tease?)

The thought crossed my mind during the Commerce flap-- (0.00 / 0)
that he was angling to replace another big eared scrawny guy with his pallid face.

Remember that when the instinct-driven look at other people, they see themselves.  They have no self-awareness.  It's why their perception of other people is unrealistic.

Short attention span (4.00 / 1)
Anybody remember who was Chair of the Senate Budget Committee in 2005 and 2006, in each of which a Republican Senate, Republican House and Republican President increased the national debt more than all Presidents and Congresses for the first two hundred years of American history?

I seem to remember a certain Senator proposing an anti-debt amendment based on that "1776" standard.

Yes, but when you've got a unitary executive in office, he's (0.00 / 0)
in charge of everything.  The problem with the current office holder is that he doesn't have the right attitude.  Forcing the Congress to be responsible for the purse strings is not acceptable--entirely too much work.

The role of the Congress changes depending on who's in charge of the White House.  If it's their own guy, they're supportive; if it's someone else, they obstruct.  Politics is a sport.  Power is the ball.  The role of the defense is to play keep-away.
