Judd Gregg, Jim Bunning vs. America

by: Dean Barker

Wed Mar 03, 2010 at 18:44:42 PM EST

So much for the "Jim Bunning is a crazy loon unsupported by both parties" tradmed theme:
Lamar Alexander, John Barasso, Bob Bennett, Jim Bunning, Richard Burr, Tom Coburn, Bob Corker, John Cornyn, Mike Crapo, Jim DeMint, John Ensign, Mike Enzi, Judd Gregg, Orrin Hatch, Mike Johanns, Mitch McConnell, James Risch, Jeff Sessions and John Thune. Those are the guys who decided Tuesday night that Americans limping along on meager unemployment benefits apparently are, in the word chosen by Nevada Rep. Dean Heller, "hobos." They all voted against extending those benefits.
Truly monstrous.

I wonder what Kelly Ayotte's position is on this?

Adding: contrast the above with this Jeanne Shaheen quote I found by accident tonight:

"My father always said to me the best thing you can do is to give someone a job and make sure they are working," she said, emphasizing that too many New Hampshire residents are struggling. "That's at the foundation of everything."

Deprivators proceed from the assumption that, (0.00 / 0)
if somebody isn't abused, the rest of the population will become slackers and stop working.  That's why unemployment is a salutary condition that reminds everyone to mind their p's and q's.  Unemployment is a "natural corrective" in the economy with which it serves no good purpose for the government to interfere.

Besides, it's always good to mention "entitlements" as if they were the devil's invention.  It wouldn't do for people to cotton to the fact that entitlements are the same thing as rights, which the agents of government are obligated to honor and respect.

The REAL way for job growth is for Ayotte promoter Craig Benson (0.00 / 0)
to increase hiring at Cabletron in New Hampshire!

I mean Aprisma! Enterasys! Riverstone! Massachusetts!
