Republicans Back Pedal On Repeal

by: Kathy Sullivan 2

Tue Mar 23, 2010 at 16:51:25 PM EDT

In less than 24 hours, Republicans are starting to back pedal on their initial calls to repeal the health care legislation.

TPM is reporting that Mitch Mcconnell today is calling for "Repeal and replace".
http://www.talkingpointsmemo.c...

Is it because the polls are showing that people are supporting health care reform, now that they know what actually is in the legislation - as opposed to the misinformation that Republicans were previously dishing?

And will Kelly Ayotte jump on the repeal and replace bandwagon as quickly as she jumped on the repeal bandwagon?

And will anyone in the trad med village point out the silliness of Mcconnell calling for "repeal and replace", as oposed to the process used by congress for over two centuries known as "amend"?

Inquiring minds want to know!

That's pretty rich with irony. (4.00 / 2)
I'm sure that the American public is just itching to go through this whole process again.  This is a sure winner with all sorts of campaign slogan options.  Wow, are they off their game right now.  They got nothing.

We should hold a contest to help the Republicans figure out with what they would like to replace the bill with.

Repeal and Replace with Ronald Reagan on the fifty.

Repeal and replace with privatize Social Security.

Repeal and replace with weapons of mass destruction.

Repeal and replace with tax cuts.

Repeal and replace with tax cuts.

Repeal and replace with Haliburton Health Care.

Repeal and replace with repeal of estate tax.

Repeal and replace with earmarks for Alaska.

Repeal and replace with _____

Your turn! :>)

What I'm thinking is that, after a while, (0.00 / 0)
alliteration becomes tiresome.

Besides, the GOP is likely still smarting from Obama having stolen their 'R' with the "Recovery and Reinvestment Act," not to mention resurrecting that most hated of words.

The Community Reinvestment Act has been the primary tool for ACORN.  Having that tool strengthened is probably worth giving up their cute acronym, as ACORN is now doing in rebranding itself-- just like Blackwater did in  turning into Xe.
