Ann McLane Kuster has raised more from Granite Staters than any previous congressional candidate in New Hampshire history (from a press release):
"This is a true grassroots effort, built by New Hampshire citizens in more than 100 different towns across the district who have given their time and their hard-earned money to Annie's campaign because they know she will work tirelessly to fix Washington and get our economy back on track," said Campaign Manager Colin Van Ostern. "We may not always have the biggest bank account, but Annie will always have the most New Hampshire support, and our campaign will now have the resources to carry out a winning campaign plan."
With seven months to go in the election, Kuster has already raised over $475,000 in total from New Hampshire donors, which makes up well more than half of her campaign's total fundraising effort. No candidate for U.S. House of Representatives has ever reported raising more than $450,000 before from New Hampshire donors
Two things struck me about this:
1) Despite some national endorsements that are key to bringing in outside money (Emily's List and the PCCC, e.g.) Kuster was able to accomplish a goal that speaks strongly to local support.
2) There's still three quarters left to go.
I'm still learning, and liking, things about all the Democratic candidates in the 2nd district, but from a campaign perspective, this is pretty darn impressive.
CONCORD, NH - As of March 31st, Democratic congressional candidate Ann McLane Kuster has now received more money in donations from New Hampshire citizens than anyone running for U.S. House of Representatives has ever reported before (at least since the FEC began compiling electronic reports ten years ago).

In the most recent quarter, Kuster will report having raised over $285,000 for a total of over $835,000 since the campaign began, the majority of which has come from New Hampshire donors. The donations come from over 5,000 individuals, including donors living in more than 100 towns in New Hampshire's second congressional district, and in the most recent quarter the average contribution was roughly $57.
