Bukowski-another kind of poet (0.00 / 0)
"Well, people got attached. Once you cut the umbilical cord they attached to the other things. Sight, sound, sex, money, mirages, mothers, masturbation, murder, and Monday morning hangovers."

Not in the shot

5/8: House Party in Concord, NH for Veterans and Military Families (4.00 / 1)
As part of Ann McLane Kuster's "30 house parties in 30 days!", I met with Josh Denton and Rep. Steve Shurtleff to begin coordination of the outreach efforts for this event.

Fosters Finds Mahoney A Little Faux-ny (4.00 / 2)
Fosters DD took a whack at Sean Mahoney's resignation from the RNC:

Mahoney told Foster's Wednesday that his resignation should not be considered a sign that he will run for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District seat now held by Carol Shea-Porter.

Yeah, right. Totally unrelated.

"I'm more interested in continuing the fight for conservative principles than playing the usual political games," he said. "My hope in tendering my resignation was to send a clear message that people are tired of the irresponsible behavior in Washington with other people's money."

There is something else people are tired of: Politicians sanctimoniously insulting their intelligence.

Ouch!

The Poet Again (4.00 / 2)

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

This poem really speaks to the time of year for me. I love the yellow-green of the leaf buds as they emerge. It is a gorgeous color that lasts a very short time.

A hat tip to my 16 year old son who brought this poem to my attention.

Thank you, Dean (4.00 / 1)
for the peace of mind the poetry brings me.  Life is a bit frantic for me these days, and Frost settles the mind for a bit.

We believe in prosperity & opportunity, strong communities, healthy families, great schools, investing in our future and leading the world by example. We are Democrats; we are the change you're looking for.

You're welcome. (0.00 / 0)
