Small business owner and local environmental activist announces candidacy
Boscawen - This morning, one of New Hampshire's top environmental experts and Boscawen area small business owner, Michele Tremblay, officially filed with the Secretary of State and will seek the District 7 state senate seat.
"I have run a business helping numerous public and private companies and non-profit groups improve their organizational management, budgeting techniques, and resource allocation," said Tremblay. "I am going to bring that expertise to Concord to keep taxes low, government efficient, and continue moving New Hampshire forward."
"This is a pivotal time for our state," Tremblay continued. "During this terrible recession, it is more important than ever to be planning for New Hampshire's long term future, both financially and environmentally."
As a New Hampshire native and resident of Boscawen for the past 26 years, Tremblay has been active on numerous conservation and environmental organizations. She currently serves as the chair of the Boscawen Conservation Commission, president of the New Hampshire Rivers Council, vice-chair of the State Rivers Management Advisory Committee, and chair of the Upper Merrimack River Local Advisory Committee on which she has served for years.
"I have always been very committed to public service," added Tremblay. "There is nothing more important than making sure we leave our state and community better than we found it for the next generation."
Retiring District 7 State Senator Harold Janeway will serve as the chair of Tremblay's campaign, and former House Minority Leader and District 7 State Senator, Rick Trombly will serve as the fiscal agent.
"I am looking forward to meeting all of the citizens in the Harrisville, Nelson, Antrim, Bennington, Deering, Francestown, Hancock, Hillsborough, Weare, Bradford, Boscawen, Canterbury, Henniker, Loudon, Northfield, Salisbury, Warner, Webster, and Windsor and I plan on working hard to earn their votes," she added.
