Replace Steele with Palin??

by: susanthe

Thu Jul 08, 2010 at 15:01:29 PM EDT

From thePolitical Junkie

Michael Steele, the Republican National Committee chairman, is in trouble.

Yes, those words have been said before.  In fact, they have been said many times before.  But this time the chorus of those saying it's time for him to go is bigger and more vocal than ever.

Steele certainly does suffer from the foot-in-mouth syndrome. A lot of Republicans want him to disappear. Some are advocating a solution that is truly hilarious:

A Chairman Palin would help set the right tone for the Republican party without having to get herself entangled in the minutiae of policy-development, which has not been her forte.

Oh, please, please, please make this happen. I promise to be a good girl.

Have you seen her latest ad? (0.00 / 0)
I'm not linking to it.

It's all about Mama Grizzlies.

It won't be long before Ayotte gets a Palin endorsement.

Which might help her in the primary, but will be absolute poison in the general.

One can hope!

And I repeat: I fail to see how, after two years of the fringiest far-right lurch I've witnessed in my lifetime, the GOP can nominate anyone else other than Palin for 2012.  They've painted themselves into a corner for short-term gain.

But I'm of two minds on this.  Part of me thinks that is the easiest path to victory for Obama '12.  My other half thinks that having her possibly one McCain heartbeat away from the presidency was already WAY too close for the well-being of this great land.

oh dear. (4.00 / 1)
I think you and Frum are on to something:
Now listen carefully to the audio, which twice warns of a "fundamental transformation of America," twice emphasizes a threat to children and grandchildren from malign unnamed forces. I think she's talking about healthcare. I hope so. But she never does say so.

Do they pay the RNC chair enough (0.00 / 0)
to make it worth her while?
But I'm with Susan, I would be Santa Claus good for that sort of present.

...of the two of them!  If we can wish for something, let's wish for the best case.

Maybe they could both look at Afghanistan from the deck of her house.
