Viz for Annie in McKee Square...now!!!

for transparency sake ~I represent Union print shops

Here come the "Dunkers" (4.00 / 2)
They demand to see Obama's baptismal certificate.

What is bothering me, is not the small group of shitheads that truly think this is a real issue. Rather, I'm getting pissed with the run of the mill GOPers that tolerate this utter bullshit because it nags Obama and hobbles his Presidency.

No Shame:

"This is not a political issue," say the Christian leaders. "The signers of this letter come from different political and ideological backgrounds, but we are unified in our belief in Jesus Christ. As Christian pastors and leaders, we believe that fellow Christians need to be an encouragement to those who call Christ their savior, not question the veracity of their faith."

However, what is being questioned is not his faith but the veracity of his claim in his book, published as he was preparing his presidential run, that he underwent a baptism. Was this claim inserted into the book to make Obama more politically palatable to the American electorate who would be naturally suspicious about what the media called his "unorthodox" religious background?

Some Christians claim that baptism is not required to become a Christian. Obama could have claimed that he became a Christian in Wright's church through a simple profession of faith and that a formal baptism was not required. Instead, however, he claimed to have undergone the procedure.

I wonder if this will wake the Independents up? The Republican Party is beyond words. How can they be trusted?

Whack-a-mole, anyone?

they can't be trusted (4.00 / 1)
never could be

They could be trusted (0.00 / 0)
to stand for something solid, once upon a time. Surely, that was not what you and I are about, but they were about something. Where are those Republicans?

Now they are simply against something and about nothing in particular.

I just don't get it. How do they get traction with sensible Americans?

Maybe we are wrong? Not likely, but it could just be.

Whack-a-mole, anyone?

I have a re-occurring dream - (4.00 / 1)
that the silent majority is waiting for election day to send their message.  The alternative is almost impossible to believe.  Can the majority of good people be buying this malarkey?

Being for something (0.00 / 0)
and being for US are two distinct things.

Now they shift to find a position that is against Obama. My only defense of the GOP of yesteryear is that the had a consistancy. Skewed towards the rich and the intolerant, but you could count on it.

A right leaning independent friend of mine pointed out today at lunch, regarding Park51- 'Republican's are spouting "sensitivity" today. Yesterday, they were spouting the evils of political correctness.'

Whack-a-mole, anyone?

Lions, Tigers, and Bears Oh My!!! (4.00 / 1)
Are they in Oz skipping down the Yellow Brick Road seeking courage, heart, and a brain?  In New Hampshire we have a candidate with all those qualities. Ann Kuster has the courage to stand for her beliefs, the heart to protect all our citizens, and the brains to know how to use them in Washington.

The Gallup chart (4.00 / 1)
I went to 538 -- now part of the New York Times, apparently -- hoping Nate Silver would poke holes in the Gallup chart.

Yes, and no.

Well, then (4.00 / 1)
The "good news" for the Democrats is that the generic ballot almost certainly isn't the only metric you should look at when forecasting midterm elections, and the other salient statistical indicators, while poor for Democrats, are not quite this poor.

We just won't run generic candidates.

No such thing as a Generic Republican (4.00 / 2)
Perhaps in theory they sound good, but when you get to the  Details the Crazy turns people off... That's my story anyway.
