Did Frank Guinta Copy Carol Shea-Porter's Message?

by: Dean Barker

Wed Sep 08, 2010 at 18:26:45 PM EDT

At the debate last night:
"I'm worried about people who sign the back of the paycheck," countered former Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta, who touted his efforts to cut taxes during his years in office. "(I'm worried about) the rest of us."
Sorry, Frank.  It doesn't work that way.

When you want to bring back pre-existing conditions, re-open the prescription drug donut hole, and privatize Social Security, the last claim you can make is that you're out there for "the rest of us."

Stop borrowing from Carol's success and find some other slogan.

Let's be fair. (4.00 / 2)
Guinta, like every Republican, is worried about "the rest of us."

Really worried.

Cutting taxes is fun. So is putting smaller signs that say "cut taxes!" on lawn signs. (0.00 / 0)
It's a winning message, and former Mayor Guinta has used it over and over in each of his campaigns.

At least on our side of the aisle, first-time candidates are often advised to pick three broad campaign issues and fit their message under those headings.  After five years of Guinta running for and holding major office, I still haven't learned what issues #2 and #3 are, or even the body of issue #1.

Though maybe better than Ashooh.

Mahoney is the nominee, time to get used to it.
