Wherein Shea-Porter Owns Guinta on the Issues, Pt. I

by: Dean Barker

Wed Oct 13, 2010 at 22:17:22 PM EDT

Frank Guinta, in an effort to get people to stop asking about his mystery money, claims Carol Shea-Porter doesn't want to talk about the issues.

Be careful what you ask for, Frank.  This clip from the debate on Social Security is devastating:

Standing ovation, Representative.  It's no wonder seniors are so proud to have you in office... (look below the fold for a wonderful video featuring some of our BH friends).

Frank Guinta (4.00 / 2)
makes Jeb Bradley look like the captain of the debating team. I remember feeling almost (key word: almost) sorry for Jeb when Carol handed him his ass at the first debate in 2004.

Guinta never knew what hit him. That's the trouble with speaking in Sloganese, when your opponent is in full possession of the facts.

sanctimonious purist/professional lefty

Frankie Stonewall (0.00 / 0)
He stonewalls on why he said he 'hopes his children never know what Social Security was.'

He stonewalls on how he would pay for Social Security today.

He stonewalls on where he got half a million dollars to fund his congressional campaign.

He stonewalls on every issue that comes his way.

No wonder he's got so many stones lying around with slimy things hiding underneath, nasty and disgusting bits of his beliefs and his history that squirm and try to hide when they're exposed to the light of day.

Only the left protects anyone's rights.

Now that's an image (0.00 / 0)
for the ages!!  I'm going to go out and turn over one of those rocks in my yard and take a picture to illustrate the Guinta campaign.

God I love this stuff.

So few politicians have the skills to "take it to the them."

Mario Cuomo comes to mind. Anyway it's a short list. Carol is on it.

If Guinta had any gravitas he would sharpen his arguments.

I don't know where he can go from here.

I told you so! (0.00 / 0)
His lack of depth or understanding on even the most elementary levels of basic issues comes across loud and clear. Nobody paying attention to Frank since he moved here 11 years ago to start running for office is surprised.  They call guys like Frank an "empty suit".

2012 starts today.

Ha, ha, ha (0.00 / 0)
Man oh man, she wiped the floor with him!  You can see his brain overheating: "Maybe if I say 'political football' a sixth time, she'll stop asking me about this stuff."

Hey! (0.00 / 0)
Campaign finance reform is an ISSUE!

The solution (0.00 / 0)
is so simple. Why can't these people see that?  Why make it so complicated?  Why....because they want to destroy it.  We must fight to protect SS for future generations by electing people like Carol and Annie.

Frank's right. Social Security has been used as a political football (0.00 / 0)
that always falls short of the goal.  But, the reason it's a football is because Republicans keep insisting that it needs to be "destroyed," "reformed," "cut," "privatized" or reconfigured to satisfy some concern about the moral hazard associated with "entitlements."

If Frank wants to put an end to this "game," all he needs to do is say "fine, we'll keep it," and move on.

For an example of how that works, consider the Supreme Court.  The Supreme Court is no longer a football 'cause nobody's proposing to get rid of it, restructure it, enlarge it or render it ineffective.  A long time ago somebody did.  But now everybody's in agreement.  See, it is simple.  All it takes is agreeable people.

Frank seems to be a mouth-piece and not a very good one at that.
