"Hey Frank, What's in the Bank?" Pt. II

by: Dean Barker

Thu Oct 14, 2010 at 22:32:29 PM EDT

Starting at 4:16 in the second clip of the uncut Pindell-Guinta interview yesterday (trasncript, along with any errors, mine):
Pindell: We're here to tell the truth, and put things to bed. In the end, the Bank of America account existed when you left the Mayor's office?

Guinta: It existed well before.

Pindell: When did you begin it, do you think?

Guinta: Oh, it was somewhere in the early 2000s, I believe, but it was... I've had it for years. I've had that account for years.

The Bank of America Wiki:
In 2004, Bank of America announced it would purchase Boston-based bank FleetBoston Financial for $47 billion in cash and stock.
So: what does "early 2000s" mean, anyway?

(h/t a BH reader with a keen ear for detail)

OK he says bank account now (4.00 / 1)
Bank statements, one of those old fashioned passbooks, 1099 tax forms, a 1040, brokerage statement, some proof besides your word, Frank?  Cause we aren't taking your word for it!

Account? (4.00 / 1)
This is another inconsistency. In his interview in August with Drew Cline, Guinta called it a series of accounts, and that he started opening them in the 1990's. You would think that he would get his story straight before talking to all these reporters, but It is vintage Guinta, too lazy to do his homework.

He's probably got a memory deficit. (0.00 / 0)
Can't recollect sequence, perhaps.  It's possible.  It's not necessarily associated with the retention of information, just that the information isn't organized sequentially.  It's like throwing papers in a file drawer without any separators.
People with Alzheimer's manifest this deficit but there's some question whether it's not a pre-existing condition that just gets noticed when other mental problems show up.
We don't know when we can't remember something.  People inquire if that's a problem and then "I can't remember" just becomes an excuse that seems to satisfy people and makes them stop asking questions.
Such people make convenient politicians if what's wanted are people who say what they're supposed to and do what little they're required to do.  Handlers like them 'cause they don't question.

Or maybe he's just f&*K%ng lying. (0.00 / 0)
My money is on the lying theory.

Handlers? (0.00 / 0)
Any guesses as to who they might be for Frank?  Kelly's are on K Street.
