NH Business Review Weighs In

by: Lucy Weber

Fri Apr 08, 2011 at 12:18:01 PM EDT

There have been any number of articles referenced on this site that give a comprehensive overview of the proposed House budget.

I feel somewhat heartened by this article in NH Business Review.  It is another article that is well worth the read.

Apparently, the business community is finally beginning to get a handle on what the proposed budget might mean to them.

As March drew to a close, the New Hampshire House passed its version of the budget over shouts outside the State House of nearly every social service group in the state. Business groups weren't shouting with them, but they were grumbling inside.
It may be a case of getting too much of what you wished for.

Is it too much to hope for that the grumbling will actually be heard by the new members of the Senate?

2012. Or sooner, in some cases.

It's the budget version of NIMBY... (0.00 / 0)
As pointed out in another diary. But the list on NHBR site is breathtaking in the variety of businesses that will be hurt by this budget. I think it's wonderful, actually, that everyone will be able to see and feel the devastation. It's no longer just human services clients or public workers who can be relegated to "interest groups," it's business people across the spectrum who will feel the pinch.

Maybe all these business interests would be willing to pay that old profits tax if it means the difference between profits and not!
